F Joey Cullen - Moorhead Bantam AA, 15U AA (2028 Draft)

He is the 11th Cullen hockey player from the family.

Someone should make a hockey trivial pursuit board game of little tidbits and call it "which Cullen am I"?

Looks like he might become the best Cullen ever, although it's really early.

Good lord that Moorhead team must have been one of the best MN bantam teams ever
Just for clarification the team that won nationals was comprised of 12 kids from Moorhead and 8 from various other towns. This is a before and after team, ran in a similar fashion to how NE prep school does it. It is still extremely impressive as that Little Caesars team they upset was arguably the top team in North America.

They still beat shattuck 5 times this year who was the #2 seed in the tournament with all moorhead kids. And destroyed them in a few of them, and shattucks entire team was 9th graders except for 2 kids.

Those games included multiple 09s on Moorhead's side, one of which is playing for NTDP next year. It is still impressive, not arguing that. Just wanted to provide some clarity.

Yup I'm aware of the handful of players in and out across the two teams. But moral of the story is MN hockey community development model is the best there is and all these people paying crazy money to get their kids on a super team is kinda funny. And Kesler's team deserved it for the 42-0 and I'm loving that.

The Minnesota model is the best for creating the most players, but not the highest quality players

It’s the best in general. Always has been and always will be. Kids play for their hometown growing up, parents don’t have to drive and fly all across the country. The way it should be.
Like someone else said, the Minnesota model only works in a handful of states where there's a large enough mass of minor hockey players to where they have enough competition to stay in their home association and play other local teams. Not possible at all in Texas and Florida where there aren't enough kids playing hockey and there's not enough competition close by, you have to travel.

It’s the best in general, IMO. Kids play for their hometown growing up, parents don’t have to drive and fly all across the country. The way it should be.
There are zero states in the rest of the US that could pull the Minnesota model off, though. There are 236 rinks in the state of Minnesota alone. Minnesota has a rare combination of very high participation rate and accessibility. Actually, it would be a horrible development model in the rest of the country.

There are some crazy shifts in the third period of that game by cullen. He is such a quick twitch dude that you think he might lose a puck battle or turn it over and out of nowhere he stick handles so fast and the puck is flying right to someones stick or hes around the dude in the blink of an eye
