I've seen this kid play at a few tournaments over the last two years and he never disappoints. Good size. Really good skater. Fantastic shot! I really like his calmness with the puck. He plays for Mount so you know the competition is top notch and he scores a lot. Another quality of his that is above average is his IQ ( I like his entries and how he creates space for himself and others).

Since he's from the Mount comparisons to Hagens are inevitable. Different game. He's no Hagens but I think he's better than Whitehead whom I really thought was a fun player.

Anyone else see him play? Opinions?

Haven't seen him this year. Thought he could shoot the hell out of the puck last year, almost has a the same drag and shoot style Matthews and Bedard do. Skating was a bit funky but he was quick so that'll be something to watch. Dylan Dean was the guy on that team on my mind, he'll be the one to watch even though he left Mount

Ah yes. I remember him. Any idea why he left?

Glance is up to 47-48 for 95 in 45.

My assumption is that Glance is an NTDPer next year. Yes?
He's the best player at MSC for sure, saw them a few times this year. The only drawback is he's not a burner, he's not slow by any means, he's just not a burner. I actually think he has a decent stride and really good edgework but the speed hasn't popped yet for him. Has really good vision, the puck is super sticky with him, really good hands, good snapshot. I'd be pretty surprised if he's not on the NTDP now

It's kind of weird watching him because after the first couple of shifts, he doesn't immediately pop out and you can point out and say he's the best player on the ice. Then you see him make a few plays and he catches your attention, then he makes some more and scores a goal or two then by the end of the game, I found myself saying wow he's definitely the best player on the ice. Reminds me of watching Will Smith at that age a little

Thanks for the well thought out reply. I'm no expert on these kids and don't see them as much as I'd like in order to evaluate. I just know who pops to me when I watch and he did that when I watched MSC - last year too. So I appreciate any comments and look forward to more discussion.

Has some potential, but struggling a little early this season. You see the offensive ability on some shifts, but a lot of these players who aren't obvious superstars struggle early on at the NTDP. He's a 2027 draft eligible, so one of the youngest on the team. Could see him ending up like a Teddy Stage that makes a big jump his second year and finds himself a second round pick. You see the offensive ability and hockey sense, but it's only the occasional shift right now that he makes something happen. Could also never get better and struggle to even be a late round pick because he's the dime a dozen floaty small perimeter skill forward that isn't skilled enough for the NHL. A wide draft range.

Well I'm a fan since I saw him at Mount so I'm pulling for the kid and want to see him progress.

Any good updates? I feel like he's scored a little more lately but, admittedly, I haven't seen him play all year.
I’ve watched the NTDP 17’s a few times the past month and half. He’s getting there but he still has a bit to go. You can see his confidence is growing and he’s playing more assertive. Strength is still an issue with him. He’s still getting knocked off the puck some but the skill is coming out more. He was never the fastest or quickest skater before, not that he’s a bad skater by any means. You still see his skill and vision out there for sure, I think it’ll be a matter of physical maturity with him and if he can get a bit quicker/stronger. He definitely looks a lot better than he was at the beginning of the year. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him break out next year but you never know who will take a jump

Sounds like improvement to me. Thanks for the honest assessment!

I definitely like Glance's game, but yeah it's a process with him. There's a few shifts per game that really catch your attention, but he's not a driver and kind of invisible when it's not one of those great shifts with the puck. He's a slippery skater, and hands the puck well. He's skilled and can score pretty well. But his overall consistency needs work, and he needs to get bigger and faster. He has a chance to stick at center, but I think it's 50/50 right now. I honestly don't think it's impossible he ends up a major riser from now to the 2027 draft. I would say he's looking like a third rounder for 2027 maybe, but second is reasonable, and first maybe isn't impossible from where he is.
