Put Hagen with Gabe and Leonard. What is this garbage? That line will score 4 goals a game. Only a matter of time before they make the change.

It’s not. But they will change it eventually. Ncaa teams dont like to give rookies anything handed to them. Might be the first time you’ve followed the ncaa.
Oskar Jellvik is a drafted NHL player who is a legitimate prospect in his own right and has two more years of college experience than Hagens including with the two other guys on the first line. It's a perfectly defensible decision to start him on that line in the first game of the season against the fourth ranked team in the country. There is talent everywhere on that roster and Hagens has to earn the spot rather than it just being given to him based on name value. Plus there is a legitimate argument that you're going to get more out of Hagens/Stiga together given their demonstrated history/chemistry. Cutter Gauthier was on the second line at BC last year and he accepted the role and elevated the guys around him. There is no issue here.

Yes. I literally just said that, rookies arent handed anything in the NCAA.

But no, Cutters line was actually considered their first line last year, the 3 rookies were the 2nd line.

If BC wanted to stack their three best players on a line last year, they would have had a first line with Smith, Leonard, and Gauthier. Clearly they didn't want to do that.

It's in BC's best interest to have 2 big time scoring lines. You can matchup against 1 line, it's really really hard to match up against 2 lines like BC had last year. York was famous for having 2 lines who played like first lines, Brown is taking the same approach. All that said, Gasseau with Hagens and Stiga is moronic. Ive watched Gasseau for years now, he's a Rich Peverly clone who was the biggest detriment to their top 6's offensive output last year. He can't play east west, can't see gaps or soft spots. He can play really solid defense, forecheck and skate. My hope is they move Vote up there with Hagens and Stiga, let them play with speed and skill and put Gasseau down on the 3rd line where he belonged last year

Hagens had a solid game tonight but Gasseau hung him out to dry a few times because he doesnt have hockey sense

I don't think it's an "earn it" thing. They had Hagens with those players in preseason. They switched it up. The coaches must've recognized the need to spread the wealth out as opposed to having a super line.

I respect the bait.
