Last 9 games playing with Cristall, 6G 11A 17pts, nearly 2.0 ppg.
Top line in Ottawa with Sale! He was tremendous last year for us. Slow start but seems to be finding his way. Do you think it's him or his stacked top line as he has a lot of talent around him? Passenger?

There's no passenger on the line, Cristall is a playmaker and need big body to carry the puck enter the zone, Stancl just fit him so well. Everyone is doing what they're supposed to do.

Going to update this by saying that while I didn't see much NHL potential originally, his tourney has proven me wrong. I'm genuinely shocked and pleasantly surprised at how much he's driving the play for Czechia because I hadn't seen it much against others even in junior.

Definitely a younger player to keep an eye on, along with the other Czechs (and the Slovaks) that the Blues are collecting.

That's not a bad thing..... I'd be thrilled if he becomes a top 9 or top6 player for the blues, very small percentage of players drafted outside the 1st rd ever even play a game. If he becomes a legit 4th liner that's a win for the Blues, I also agree he has the potential for more, but it's not like a negative thing here that memento is saying. He's thrilled with the progress as am I.

We're all on the same team here buddy, Team Stancl babyyyy

Yes, I did, but you obviously didn't bother or care to look at my honestly measured response to you when you hurled a bunch of baseless assumptions at me. Quite rude, to be honest, but I'll explain again, even though I really shouldn't.

You have to understand how the Blues organizational prospects depth chart is organized and how our team's forward group is supposed to work with the talent it doesn't have at the moment.

Let's start with the depth chart. As far as centers, we have two top six centers at the moment in Robert Thomas and eventually Dalibor Dvorsky. The third center is a little more fluid, but we have Dylan Holloway and Otto Stenberg, both of whom have a very good chance at making a huge impact there. So, I don't see Stancl beating either of them out for center, not as an insult to Stancl, but talking about the talent - first round talent that has thus far lived up to the hype - ahead of him. Then you look at the wings. Left wing, you have Pavel Buchnevich as the veteran with one of Stenberg or Holloway below him, along with Zachary Bolduc on the third line (and while you could put reasonably put Stancl on that third line, considering how well Bolduc has played in his true rookie season, and that he's only twenty-one and also a former first round pick who is living up to his talent, it's unlikely that Stancl would beat him out either). Right wing is even more crowded with Jordan Kyrou, Jimmy Snuggerud, and Jake Neighbours as top-six talents. He's not beating them out.

So, the likely spot on the depth chart for Stancl is fourth line center with Juraj Pekarcik and possibly Adam Jecho, like I had mentioned. But why did I consider it? Because of how the forward group works for the Blues.

We roll four lines all the time. That's how we won in 2019: constant offensive pressure by our four lines. In theory and well-done practice, all of our lines can reasonably forecheck, backcheck, facilitate O-zone possession, and score goals. All of our lines. (As proof, we played Sammy Blais, Ivan Barbashev, and an aging Alexander Steen as our fourth line, and anyone who played us can tell how impactful they were.) Our third line and fourth lines, at their best, resemble not checking or grinding lines like you assume, but as puck possession-based lines that forecheck relentlessly, backcheck just as relentlessly, and play a 200 foot game.

I never, ever insulted Stancl. Saying - and I quote myself verbatim, "I could see a Stancl, Pekarcik, Jecho fourth line in the future, and that's making me hot." That's not meant as an insult to the player he is, but a compliment to how far he's come as a fourth-round pick. Meanwhile, you threw around utterly baseless shit that I cheered for Team Canada (when my f***ing bio location says "St. Louis, Missouri"), said I cheered for a dirty team, criticized me on the person I am, and didn't even bother to come back for my response, which, given that you're still misquoting me and deliberately misrepresenting my honest and positive intentions, frankly should've criticized you more.

Don't you ever assume that you know shit about me or my team because you haven't bothered to learn.

And you say that I'm full of it? Lawl at the pot calling the kettle black.

Thank you for backing me up. One thing I must point out, though: I'm a woman. Trans, yes, but a woman nonetheless. :D

is the type of player to have a great world juniors but never doing anything beyond that.
he's not a 5'9 playmaker with no defense in his game..... He's actually the exact type of player to make an impact beyond this tournament because of his size and foundation as a player, even if that impact is only that of a bottom 6'er. Hell Ivan Ivan is in the NHL now and stancl looks better than that guy ever did at the same age.

It's nice to see him having scoring success this year. He looked great in the blues dev camp this past summer as well.

Expectations are certainly tempered for him in terms of the magnitude of his potential impact as a pro, but given the size and style of play, there's certainly pro potential there in my opinion.

You might be right, I hope you are. I don’t see anything more than a bottom-6 checking role.

Stancl feels like one of those players who performs better surrounded by pros. He's big, surprisingly mobile, has a great shot, and makes those quick little plays well. I noticed a few times this tournament he's got good hands in tight spaces and can make those shifty little unexpected passes well. I like the player.

same with Snuggerud

If Snuggy turns out to be a solid 3rd round winger, I guess that's okay relative to his draftposition. However due to his development after being drafted I hope he will eventually be a top-6 winger. For now, he's aheadvof Stancl on our depthchart by quite a margin. However, as development isn't always linear that can always change in the future as Stancl may not have a higher ceiling than Snuggy, he might have a higher floor.

This is a perfect summary of him... also, clutch as hell. Take away the Kazakh hattrick and he still scored on Sweden, US and Canada. 2 years in a row with Canada in a quarter too!

He had 7g, 15a in his last 15 games for Kelowna coming into this tournament then dominated the tournament. If you put a reel of just his shifts all tournament your jaw would drop at how many great plays large and small that he made
