He’s played 8 games and has 1 4 point game. So he has 2 points in the other 6 games.

Guys, he has less points in the games where he doesn’t score as much!

Truly a revelation! Thanks for your valuable analysis and insight.
Just thought it would help since wrong information was pointed out. No need to get riled up! You guys should learn to listen to reality instead of propping him up as the next Kucherov when you have to actually develop him first. Montreal isn’t great at that with European prospects.

Should we remove his 4 point game out of the equation/total because it affect “reality”? Let’s debate!

Absolutely nothing from the current front office would suggest the bolded is even remotely right. Maybe you are privy to some information that the rest of us aren’t and if so, please share

Don’t project your biases and prejudice onto me. Btw, I just thought it would help to point out that chopping up point totals like that at this stage of the season is dumb as shit. No need to get riled up!

No, but considering the sample size you have to take it into account. That's an outlier that will smooth out over more games, at this point it's notable.

Its 8 games into the season
He had his big night 3 games ago
Thanks for pointing this simple math out, it would have got lost in the numbers otherwise

I'm a huge fan of Demidov, his edgework is Kaprizov-esque. I think he's going to be fantastic but it's completely valid to point out that 67% of his points came in one game at this point in response to posters asking about records. I wouldn't be shocked for a second if he went near point per game this season or if he's a star in the NHL, with the sample size we have though those outliers hold more weight. That's just basic statistics.

Its unnecessary.
The season is 8 games old and he had his 4 point game on the 6th game of the season.

We all know.

Doesn’t matter. Points are points. You could easily argue the opposite and say if he’s able to do 4 a night he’s able to have a 2-3 points a night sequence a be well over a ppg by game 15

I like what he’s shown so far, definitely belongs, and has great potential, doesn’t matter he got 4 points in 1 game, he did it. He’s also a kid at 18 soon 19 against grown men lol, kids show inconsistencies. MM is gonna have the same issues in the NHL as I’m sure Demidov will next year. Kids take time to grow, not everyone is Crosby at 18.

From my viewings so far, I think the coaching staff / usage is a lot more inconsistent then his play. Yes, he makes defensive mistakes, but it just seems like he's getting a very short leash because he's young and doesn't have a long term contract. SKA also have a ton of options which makes him non-indispensable.

I am not sure it's a good point.

You can play a good game and have no points to show for or have a terrible game but finishing with 4 pts.

From what I've seen from him his 4 pts game was good but not even his best game. I thought he played better the following game creating multiple chances on all his shifts + hitting the post but he finished with 0 pts.

I think the main reason for his lower production is due to low time on ice and little PP time. When he is used at 5 on 5, he creates a lot of chances for his teammates. Overall for young player in the KHL the fact he is played on the 3rd line is good indicator of his talent and add that if he manages to get near point per game with no PP time that would be truly exceptional.

I don't think the reason is defensive mistakes...the games i watched he was the most defensively aware player on his line. I think the coach is playing head games. If he wanted to win he would play Demidov 16+ minutes per game and PP time.
