Tremendously overrated prospect, even if he is a phenomenal one, only because people are radically overestimating the current level of talent in the KHL as opposed to the years in which prospects like Kaprizov were coming up in the rank. Most Habs fans are going to turn on him when he comes over and fails to live up to the impossible expectations with which he, Koko, and Slaf were burdened, particularly because his are even higher due to such misperceptions.

Still going to be a high-end first liner when he's reached the peak of his development, but fans and media will make it more difficult for him.
And what EXACTLY could he be doing more to not be "tremendously overrated" in your eyes?

He's overcome adversity in his first KHL season and broke the points record for a player his age. Right now he's tied for 14th in league scoring and every single player ahead of him has at least FIVE more minutes played per game.

Should he have broken the record ten games ago? Should he be leading the KHL in scoring with 60% of their icetime?

Does this reflect the difference between SKA and Sochi, though...
Michkov has really poor defensive awareness. Its what has driven Torts mad and lead to the benchings etc. What the comparison is reflecting is a key difference in their defensive games. Demidov can play in his own zone. Michkov is learning how to play in his.

The comparison accurately concludes that Michkov is one-dimensional and Demidov is well rounded.

Kids quickly becoming massively underrated outside the habs fanbase which is okay, we'll just have to catch more crows is all.
He’s definitely not massively underrated outside habs fanbase. He’s quite possibly a future burgeoning NHL star.

I like this guy.

Demidov is better than MM defensively but let's see how the future plays out!
