So this recall meant he didn't play in the AHL all star game. He participated in the skills contest on Sunday, but he was not on the ice last night.

I'm sure he doesn't care. The goal is NHL. At all costs. I really hope they don't just play Rosen with scrubs.

Have to ask him - he's already got 8 NHL games to his credit so it's not a debut.

Any player who would rather play in AHL all-star game instead of the NHL, would really raise questions. No one cares about the AHL, relative to being in the NHL. Sorry for the fans there but it is all about development to get guys in the NHL.

I’m old enough to remember two days ago when Lindy Ruff said Rosen was getting a great opportunity.

Anyway…he’s been sent back
This was his "great opportunity" - 11:46 TOI, 3 shifts in the 3rd, with 2:05 TOI.

Not that Rosen looked great by any means, but there's effectively zero chance at a playoff spot now, 3 forwards were out, and maybe more will be out tomorrow.

Why not give the kid a decent look for at least 3-4 games, with different linemates? I don't get it.

Ruff's not here to develop the youngsters. He's going to play the players who give him the best shot to win. I can't really blame him, as much as i would have liked to see more of Rosen. He needs to make some noise with the minutes he gets and then he'll get more.

Got the GTG late in the third on his half-slapper one-timer that gets on net both accurately and quickly to hit the 25 goal mark. That puts him 2nd in the league in goals, now tied for the league lead in primary points as well.

I hope he gets a legit shot over a couple of NHL games if he's not traded. He's getting toward that Chris Taylor territory and deserves a chance, here or elsewhere.

Think you gotta give Rosén the rest of the year after the deadline to really try and prove himself at this level. Send him back for the playoffs.

Not sure what @Chainshot or @Ace think but I feel like he really doesn't have much more to prove in the regular season in the AHL.

I can't imagine how he will find a place in line up next season, we need to reduce the number of young players in the top 9, not add more youth.

Who knows? I think he's at the same point Quinn was at the end of his RotY AHL season (without the injuries) - he is dangerous most of the time, regardless of what Amerk he's on the ice with. My question would be, where does he go in the lineup? *that isn't an endorsement or criticism, I just don't see what the plan here is from the team*

Likely, although if a couple players from our current top 6 are traded for veteran help there might be a spot for Rosen (if he earns it).
And who do we have for sale from the top 6 for vet? We will at least need to replace Zucker and Greenway with similar players in the top 9, ideally add a top 6 C. I would keep only 2-3 young players in the top 9, no more.

Fairly give him a shake in Zucker's place (if Zucker is moved) I think is what I would prefer to see.

I suppose. I've enjoyed Zucker's energizing play and veteran presence. If they move on from him without a short, reasonable extension, they're just back to trying to convince the next guy to come in. Same with Greenway.

But Rosen does look like he's fork tender at this point and should be on their radar to see what he can do.

I'd like to see Zucker and Greenway back. If any or all of Cozens, Peterka, and Quinn are on the trade block, fine by me.

Well, I would like that too, but Kevyn has had a few months to resign them and so far it hasn't happened. And yet both Zucker and Greenaway have said in the press that they would like to stay. I have no problem with trading Cozens, JJP and Quinn, but it depends on what we get return.
