Not expecting a great showing, but he's a lot more ready for NHL duty than during his 5-game look a year ago. Hope he proves me wrong, seizes this opportunity, and plays well enough that they can't send him back down.

Deserves it.

Shop window for a deal perhaps as well ?
Could be though the offense flowed through him prior to Kulich's return. He's been good and it's deserved. Hopefully he looks good, gives everyone including other GMs something to think about.

Agreed. He's been using his speed and been involved in defending with it as well as getting up the ice and creating scoring chances. My only criticism is that once Kulich came down, he was seemingly forcing every touch to go to Jiri instead of looking to shoot himself. Just my opinion, could be statistically not true... :biglaugh:

Bill Hoppe:

"I actually think he has not been playing well," Amerks assistant coach Vinny Prospal told the Times Herald on Nov. 8 in Blue Cross Arena. "He's producing, but I think there's a hell of a lot more in his play than what he's shown."

I hope he plays better this time around. Both Rosen and Kulich haven't added much on both their stints with the big club

No not calling them a bust. We really need a prospect to break through and be able to contribute to winning.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – Isak Rosen jumped at the opportunity when he received an invite from Rasmus Dahlin to join members of the Buffalo Sabres for an offseason camp in Switzerland this past summer.

Rosen took part in 10 days of intense skates and off-ice workouts with a group that included fellow first-round pick Jiri Kulich as well as Dahlin, goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, forward JJ Peterka, and defensemen Henri Jokiharju, Mattias Samuelsson, and Owen Power, among others.

“It meant a lot when the captain reaches out and wants you there,” Rosen recalled. “It was really fun to bond with the guys in Switzerland this summer and get more comfortable with the guys.”

Rosen was back with his Sabres teammates, including Kulich, for practice at the Toyota Sports Complex on Tuesday. The Sabres recalled the 21-year-old forward from Rochester in advance of their three-game road trip through California, which opens Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Kings.

The winger practiced primarily on a line with Dylan Cozens and Zach Benson. Whether he plays against the Kings could be determined by the statuses of Tage Thompson and Alex Tuch, both of whom will be evaluated again Wednesday morning.

Rosen leads the Amerks with 13 points (4+9) in 14 games this season, well ahead of his team-leading pace from 2022-23 (50 points in 67 games). He entered the year focused on building on the two-way game he developed last season, when former Rochester coach (and current Sabres assistant) Seth Appert trusted Rosen as one of the team’s top defensive forwards.

“I think it’s important for me if I want to take the next step and take a jersey here (in Buffalo),” Rosen said. “It’s important to have a two-way game. I know I can play offensively, but I added a lot to my defensive play last year. I think that’s good for me.”

Rosen also returned with the hindsight of experience, having played seven NHL games with the Sabres last season.

“You’re trying to learn from it and be more ready,” he said.

I thought he was finding his game a bit but the end of that look. Wasn't ready but by the end of the seven games I saw adjustments

Are players allowed to be loaned on their off days?

I'm surprised they kept him on the main roster for two non-practice days, then one practice day.

Staying in Buffalo to hang out with best friend Kulich.

Pulls back up to a point-per-game with tonight's 2-1-3 performance against the Crunch. I said it before, but he seemed like he was deferring to Kulich too much. This is more of him just playing his game instead of trying to force feed his friend.

One of the goals -

(Love that mohawk from Komarov and then using the seam to find Rosen uncovered.)

The first goal -

Rosen gets forgotten with all of buffalos prospects, but he’s my favorite current prospect by far, doing great in the ahl as a 21 yr old. can add a playmaking element in the top 9 where we really lack. After trading CM we really need a playmaker. I see a Patrick Kane lite player ( stylistically) good for70 pts - maybe more in a career year. I hope he’s not traded as part of a throw in

I actually understand your position, but I don't know how we're going to fit all these guys into the lineup. We need vets and physical guys like Greenway, guys who are good around the net. Ideally, we need some kind of 2C playmaker.

Trade Peterka, insert Rosen.
If I trade Peterka I want to get some 2C to play with Quinn and Cozens on his wings. If Zucker goes to UFA I want to get another vet guy to replace him, same with Greenway, some physical guy for the top 9. I understand people want all of our prospects to succeed, but I don't see it, I don't see this team making the playoffs. We don't even know if Rosen will be as good at the NHL level as Peterka.

At the very least, he could be tried on the fourth line for now, because Lafferty is terrible.

Peterka is Peterka.

Rosen could be anything! Even a Peterka!
