For the Blues sake, I think would be best for him to work in the gym on his lower body and to also move him to RW (maybe LW) long term. I have concerns about his ability to play C in the NHL. Still 19 yrs though with some nice scoring ability that could translate into a 30-30 PP1 trigger man if all goes right

He will stay at center, but I do agree with your assessment of his weaknesses. I don’t expect him to be a shutdown C, but that should improve over time. The skating is an issue. Hopefully it improves.

Sergachev worked hard to teach himself as much English as possible. Very possible Dvorsky worked on it a ton in Sudbury.

Very poised with the puck. Good in tight, physical enough to play through the NHL. Reminds me a lot of Pavel Zacha with a hammer of a one timer shot. Playmaking is. high end though.

Skating is going to have to get better, top end speed isn’t bad, acceleration isn’t great. Can’t tell if it’s due to him digesting the game or he’s just a little choppy in terms of movements. I don’t think it’ll overly inhibit him from being able to defend but would definitely help if he saw some improvement there.

Game was an extremely choppy game though, not a lot of ice time for him and no real flow to the game. A lot of PKs for the Blues. Should be able to get a better understanding in a few games.

Can't wait to see where Dalibors skating/pace gets to when he physically develops into a man. All the other attributes are there. The Mental processing, vision, puck skill, puck protection/edgework, High end release and very good attention to detail away from the puck and ability to find quiet areas offensively. If this kids skating gets to top 6 NHL average, like let's say kopitar or Pettersson. He's going to be a STUD. Can't wait for prime Thomas and Dvorsky in the future.

He is 19, he needs to be playing games. Hopefully they get him back to the AHL quickly if they won't breakup a winning lineup (which is totally understandable).

I have no problem with it. Practicing with the team is valuable experience for him. I don’t think he’s ready to be an everyday NHL player yet.

I completely disagree with the notion that getting 9 more AHL games is more beneficial to his development than staying up with the NHL team that is red hot and playing great. I think practicing with that team and just learning what important NHL hockey and a competitive team look like will pay dividends. Even if he's scratched for the rest of the regular season I'd still prefer to have him up. If this was midway through the season I would agree with sending him back to the AHL, but there are only 9 AHL games left and the Thunderbirds are out of the playoffs.

Springfield is holding the last playoff spot. The AHL playoff format is wonky since the divisions are unbalanced, the bottom 2 teams of each division are out. Springfield is 6th out of 8 teams.

"Needs to be playing games." Yea, I'm sure his development has been poisoned by playing an NHL game and getting to practice with a team that's at full intensity for a playoff battle. This is nothing. There's no analysis to be had here.

There is some benefit as you detailed but at some point, the kid should be playing games. Especially when the alternative is being a key part of a run to a playoff spot in the AHL.
