F Chaz Lucius (2021, 18th, WPG)

So sad for this young man. Having your career snatched from you with no way to fight for it is IMO, something every hockey fan should be able to understand and feel sorry for.
He must have been some kind of good to be able to play with this illness at a level that made him a first rounder.

It's very sad but it's the right decision. Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is a big deal. Eleven years ago a good friend of mine died after riding a mountain on his bike. His aorta bursted because of this condition which impact joints and skins.

It explains so much about him and it makes me wonder how many players retired because of injuries not knowing they had EDS.

EDS is a rare disease, but it's also one of the most common ones.

I had high hopes in Chaz Lucius when I gave up Adam Larsson for him. He had a lot of talent and reminded me of Pacioretty.

Hope he can have a nice life away from playing, maybe as a coach or something.

Would have been nice of the Winnipeg Jets to announce some kind of initiative to support research for Ehlers-Danlos. Nothing has been done relative to this unless I'm wrong?

Doesnt even have to be a big donation, just an awarness campaign during a game and maybe some profits off a 50/50 draw. They have a big following and it could make a small difference. I'm sure Lucius would appreciate it.
