Nikishin turning heads.
I am excited to follow Cristall’s development.Remember that Cristall almost made Washington out of training camp. Given the caps are maybe the best team in the league, how many other teams would he have made if he were with a different organization?
But I wouldn’t read too, too much into having a cup of coffee with the Caps. I look at it more as a development strategy: stoke his hunger by indicating he’s on the cusp; soften the blow/monotony of one more junior year, stuff like that.
But he did not look out of place. And he is close. But I still don’t think any team would ice him permanently this year. My opinion is that he still needs to work on his straightaway speed. But he’d look fine on an NHL PP2.
