What's the scouting report on him, he is very light to say the least.

He has 25 points in 6 preseason games in the AJHL so far. I have a feeling he will end up at least a second rounder.

Yep - definitely the best player to come out of the BCHL/AJHL this draft after Wood and Nadeau In my opinion - Height will be a problem of course but he is a real skilled forward.

I don’t even think that the 25 points in 6 games is the most surprising thing of the pre-season for him he ”only” had 6 points in the 23-0 blowout of Wisconsin haha - insane statline for sure.

He is listed at 5'9". Is he REALLY 5'9" or 5'9" with skates?

Not sure why I am so skeptical when I see heights listed.

He‘s listed at 5’8” 150 on the Bandits website. Don’t know how accurate that is but when watching him it looks like it makes a lot of sense. He definitely has a lot of filling out to do - guy looks like a toothpick.

In the play below #19 Hudson Malinoski, who is listed at 6’0 looks consiterably taller than Fink. I’m thinking 3-4 inches so the 5’8”-5’9” measurement may be accurate.

Can't he still switch the league he plays in? Seems crazy to play in the league you score 4 PPG in.
A fantastic season for him likley settles in around 2PPG. I don’t see any way he is able to continue that pace for a full season.

Fair enough and thanks.

Surely it would be unprecedented and hugely unlikely but the point still stands, can he still switch leagues at this point?

Without a doubt it would be unprecedented. For context - the best AJHL season in decades happened last year for Ryan McAllister for the Brooks Bandits where he scored at around a 2.2 PPG pace as a 20 year old overager. He had 139pts in 60 games.

He can definitely switch leagues but he wants to go the College route so CHL doesn’t look like it will be an option. I guess he could go USHL (his rights are held by the Madison Capitols) but he may want to stay close to home. He is committed to the University of Wisconsin for next season.

-----
12+14=26 (3.71 ppg)

20 goals in 20 games so far this season, 4 points shy of 50.

preseason + regular season so far

29+43=72 (2.67 ppg)

17 year old top 3 scorers from AJHL at their draft seasons
- last 15 years

19-20 Carter Savoie : 53+46=99 (1.80 ppg) - 2020 100th overall -
- finished 2nd in the AJHL scoring

After scoring just 3 points in 4 games, he has 9 points in his last 3 games
at 59 points now.. edit : they added one point for him, so 60.

Bandits been playing many back to back games.
6 games in 8 days (11&12, 15&16, 18&19).

16 games in their last 30 days.... that's way too often, right?
in that 30 day span, he has 35 points, in those 16 games...

Nobody should be playing that often, not alone a 17 year old.

Fink quietly tied Andrei Svechnikov for the WJAC points record with 12. Caveats being Svechnikov was younger, others have had a higher ppg, and no Russia this year.
