His USHL season was hampered by a serious knee injury. Because of that, he played only 10 games for the club. "I'm not quite 100 per cent yet, but I feel good so I can leave. Right now my plan is to go back to the USHL, then I'll go to the NCAA. I'll see how I develop as a player, but obviously signing an NHL contract is the goal for the future right now. The best thing would be to develop my game so that I can jump straight to the NHL. That would be ideal so I don't have to go to the farm," said Zlnka, who also watched the start of the draft itself.
