well said.
Bergeron and Krejci. HUGE losses. Their two best players right up until they retired.
They were the leaders, they were the powerplay.
Noteworthy.....Swayman (and Ullmark) are far better goalies when they play every other game.

But since Oct. 16, they've played 14 games and have scored just 27 goals. That's 1.93 goals per game.

Just to put that into context, only 6 teams in the entire salary cap era have ever averaged less than 2.10 goals per game. The last 4 teams all finished dead last by a mile.

2010-11 New Jersey Devils - 2.09 (23rd)

2011-12 Minnesota Wild - 2.02 (24th)

2013-14 Buffalo Sabres - 1.83 (30th)

2014-15 Buffalo Sabres - 1.87 (30th)

2016-17 Colorado Avalanche - 2.01 (30th) 22 wins.

2019-20 Detroit Red Wings - 2.00 (31st)

What we have witnessed the past month of Bruins hockey is historically bad offensive production.

I watch them and think they are honestly the worst team in the entire league off the rush while simultaneously being the worst team in the entire league at defending the rush.

There isn't a coach or trade on planet earth that can fix the offensive woes of this team. Then factor in contending teams pick this team apart defensively. It's done. This season is over. This team isn't fixable in-season. Sell off whatever UFAs and guys left on one-year deals that they can, and try to recoup assets/clear cap space and try to re-invent this team's offense next year while hiring a coach who can get them back to playing sound defense.

Firing Monty now might help them defensively, but with an historically bad offensive team like this group is, no coach is going to change that. The talent just isn't there.

Worst Bruins team I've seen since 2005-06 and we all know how that turned out. Even the Dave Lewis Bruins were in the hunt until the final month before the 18-wheeler went off a cliff. This team is basically done and it's not even Black Friday yet. It's historically bad. The numbers are right there you don't need some fancy advanced stat to prove it.
Piss poor roster construction has doomed this season. It's not a fun team to watch. They can't generate offensive chances. They can't defend. They can't even complete basic passes. It's a shit show.

it's a bottom heavy roster with stiffs and unskilled plugs and it's tough to watch.

Missed this one, doesn't seem worth watching back in full. The problems are pretty entrenched and well-known, sounds like more of the same here. They won't fix themselves, so what are management going to do?

Forgive me for this, but one thing I did enjoy was a clip of fellow Aussie Nathan Walker's goal. That was a really nice shot. Sure would be great if the Bruins could deliver a few more like that.
Your continent has been making excellent movies. I'm a big fan of the WOLF CREEK films. John Jarratt just kills it.

Should the record be better than this?

My answer is no.

Horror is not for me, but the Wolf Creek films definitely have a good reputation. We don't have a big film industry, but they produce some solid stuff. Jarratt has been great in multiple different sorts of roles over the years.

It is.
That game today was two teams struggling and failing to be play great hockey.
Only to be ended by a wrist shot coming g down the wing during gimmick time after 60.
Could watch that game in 40 seconds in the hight lights at 11.

There is nothing even remotely entertaining about this team. In an 8 day stretch they've had 2 games under 20 shots, and got absolutely destroyed in another game that was over with 20 mins. still left to play.

Embarrassing roster construction with an ideology that is mostly driven by trying to counter what the Panthers did to them the past two playoffs. And now those roster decisions are blowing up in their face.

All good points, and you are probably right that the season is not salvageable. But I still want to see what a different head coach can do. I think it's due diligence to see what this group is capable of under a different hand, even if it's as simple as just throwing the keys to Leach and saying 'do your best'. See if that makes any difference, and then act accordingly at the deadline and beyond.

In terms of what the roster might still be capable of I look at the Islanders. Similarly offensively limited and slow. Their record so far this season isn't actually any better than Boston's, but that team has an identity and a structure that they play to and which I think at least gives them a chance of making the playoffs and doing something meaningful in them. They play boring, but at least they stick to their task and buy into it. Can this Bruins roster do something similar? Curious to at least find out before going for more root and branch changes.

I don't want any sort of new coach bump. Bottom out the right way. No half measures.
