I think this year has proven keeping Kyle wasn’t the worst decision, he’s mad significant improvements to the roster but I think Kyle should have gone with a new coach after that. He may have even gotten more confidence from the board.

I think Kyle is a fairly good GM, I think his attachment to Keefe may be what ultimately costs him his job. Because Kyle has provided Keefe with pretty good rosters.

We dont have same definition pf pretty good roster...

No body will tell me It was a great team, need to play galchenyuk in your top 6 because of 1 or 2 injury just show huge lack of depht... the reality, its outside of 1st line, habs was better in everywhere than leafs

-With lost of Muzzin last 2, habs D was easily better than leafs D

Supplementing the OP's title...

Perhaps the experiment should be simplicity on the defensive side of the puck with an admixture of a few systems on the other; Run the center line through of Matthews-Tavares-ROR 90% of the time and run our D in an egalitarian deployment given our lack of a true number one.

Mindful that chemistry can have a positive effect, it's usually short; If our group lacks industry and motivation, systems and line-shuffling won't matter if the tried and true formula of sacrifice for the other and opportunism aren't implemented.
