Yeah I get that, as Nashville's spot was blank on OP's list, I was just wondering if it was actually Neal that should be there whether he's flipped or not

not yet. It seems pretty evident it'll be him but I'll just wait for something a little more concrete.

Well you were just looking for reason to talk about Hudon at the presser. This is 100% marketing, so you mention the ones that are not there yet of course!

Edit: Well specially if they are close, because did he mentioned Audet, Bourque, Gregoire & Fucale?

Talking about Hudon at an end-presser is for marketing? What marketing? Did we start seeling more jerseys after that? Come on man. It,s Bergevin trying to buy time as far as finding centermen is concerned. And Hudon happens to be the best C the farm team has. He would have been called Pachouinatze that he would have named him.

Well the thought of that escaped me because frankly it is even scarier. You'd trounce Hudon into a top 6 center position next season? Sounds worst than having Drouin there. Yikes, I hope you're wrong ;)

Edit: In that Bergevin couldn't possibly think like that I meant...

Why did FLA let Jonathan Marchessault go?

He had 30 goals last year. I mean wouldn't they at least try and trade him? a 3rd rounder is better than nothing.

Or is everyone convinced he is just a flash in the pan? He is signed for next season at 750K? I would of thrown a DLR or Hudon at FLA for the kid.

I really don't get that one.

Probably because they don't think he can repeat.

Whenever I watched the Ice Caps this year Hudon was playing Center

He never played center this year, and only a few games last year on a line of Ghetto, Hudon and Holloway. They had a bad night against philly's AHL team and Lefebvre broke up the line a week or so into the season after they were the best line by far in every game but one. I don't think he ever played center again, not saying he wouldn't take some draws if someone got tossed but he was always LW. They moved Terry to Center on Hudon's line and would have Carr and later on Scherbak at RW.

I know its not comparable but its almost as if MB would of left AG exposed because he doesn't think he can score 30 goals again.

I guess he really is their version of DD.

Still would of thrown them something to try and get the guy. At 750K its nothing and even if he only scores 20 he can still be useful.

Maybe that's what it was I remember him taking draws. Sherbak also played center but that could have been the season before too. Tried to find faceoffs taken in the ahl but couldn't find it.

Scherbak did play center the previous season after he came back from injury in Jan or Feb. He also played LW and RW last year. This year he was always at RW, mostly paired on a line with Audette at center until later in the year when they finally bumped him up to the Hudon/Terry line.

Well so is Drouin to be fair and that didn't stop the Habs media machine from trying to sell him as a center.

Hudon could most definately play as a C...just like Drouin can or can't...just like Galchenyuk can or can't...etc.

Besides.....TheAHL.com doesn't agree with you.

http://theahl.com/stats/player/4879/56/charles-hudon

If the Habs brass had any intention to play him at center don't you think he would've played center in the AHL?

He's playing LW since forever, down there.

No, he was not. They moved Terry to center after BigMac made the big club.

I'll laugh so hard if the names that have been released so far are true. Can't believe some people thought LV would be competitive off the bat.

Well they let some good players there in exchange for picks. Not a surprise as this is what i expected.

Surprised they accepted anything to leave Dumba alone though. Can't wait to see what the Wild paid for that.

It's almost like MB leaving AG exposed? No. Not even close.

He's 26 and played 95% of his career in the AHL. Last year he played with Florida's best players and had a career season because of it. It's very likely that he won't ever be able to repeat. That's why Florida didn't protect him.

Of course, everyone with common sense knew that they'd accept picks instead of good players. Like you I'm most surprised about Dumba though.

Funniest thing of all is how Pittsburgh had to give a pick for them to take Fleury.

WSH pick is Nate Schmidt. Whole lot of LHD.

WPG paid a first and another pick to protect Enstrom, but will get a later first back. I'd guess NYI?

im surprised that Las Vegas pass on McQuaid

I'll laugh so hard if the names that have been released so far are true. Can't believe some people thought LV would be competitive off the bat.

Well I mean that was a calculated decision by them to start from scratch. They could have taken a different approach and gone with:

Neal - Shipashov -
Cammalleri - Nelson/Strome - Marchessault
Boedker - Eakin - Stempniak
Richardson - Kruger - Chiasson
Hudon - Rychel - Gaunce - Dano

Methot - Vatanen
Johnson - Dumba
McNabb - Gunnarsson
C. Miller - Dotchin
Ouellet - Reinhart
Schmidt

Fleury
Neuvirth
Pickard
Raanta
Ullmark

That could have probably competed for a playoff spot. But ultimately, what's the point of being in no man's land and trying to be a playoff contender when your core is old? I don't agree with everything McPhee has done but I have a hard time blaming him for the route he's taking.
