In part one of a three party trilogy, Agent Bergevin faces a critical decision, does he sit back and let Vegas select one of his own players or will he try and influence their decision through incentives? It's a story that will all unfold tonight.

McKenzie saying Vegas lands Theodore from ANA. I hope Habs trade with Vegas to land Theodore. Looks to be a solid top pairing LD in the making.

Then why would Vegas trade him to the Habs?

Could have just drafted him instead of McCarron, but of course the man in charge would rather select 1st round disappointments.

Why would Vegas trade a young dman like him? They are building a team keeping Theodore makes lot of sense.

This will end up being thread 1 of 2 I imagine, since this is a TDL on steroids...

What a night for my last one as a non-dad. I'll be on the hospital Wi-Fi throughout Thursday morning to see the morning-after trades, C-section is scheduled for noon tomorrow.

Pleks will be a Knight tonight!! Please.....

Every player has their price. Vegas wouldn't want to trade but the Habs should pay up for him.

As i expected the Knights are taking on bad deals in exchange for prospects and picks. Columbus deal looks terrible, a first and they still lose former third overall in Murray. Minnesota got smoked as well.

Love MB or hate him we are sitting pretty good if all we lose is Hudon. I still think they grab Pleks or Emelin for deadline deals, don't see where Hudon fits in their plans.

If indeed that is a deal Vegas has in place, why the hell would they flip him?

That would be a hell of a start to building a team

**** the awards I don't care about that.

What about the fact that the coach told the young ppg mccarron that he will never be a scorer? And why would the great Bergevin resign Timmins?

The same way Theodore or any young player fits in their plans.......

Oh I agree but wishful thinking hoping the Habs could trade for him.

The league really gave VGK way too much power, they're going to be loaded with picks and good players.

Thats what makes it good.

You really want another Carolina/Colorado team in the league?

Sure, it does makes things really interesting but if I was a small market team that's been struggling for years I'd be pissed.

I think the hype around next season will be really high, lots of revamped teams will get fans interested, good marketing strategy indeed but I feel it's a little unfair to some teams how much candy Vegas got.

$500 USD expansion fee. That buys you a lot of candy. Only $80M when the Wild and BJ came into the league 17 years ago.

Vegas is gonna get some 1st round picks spread out over the next several years,as well as a few decent players that can be traded for picks later.
In no way is Vegas building a team that is meant to be competitive now.
Fleury will be entertaining but thats about it.

This is going to be really dragged out I imagine. The NHL never disappoints in putting out a cringe worthy production.

so theodore to vegas apparently?

We should trade for him

Price won't cheap but a SMARTER AND CHEAPER option then most.

Unless we sign Del Zotto and call it a summer.

The coach sucks. But if the kid had that in him from the get go, he would have told his coach to **** off and become a scorer anyway. Or ask for a trade. From the start, people were wondring about his offensive abilities. And usually, scouts from the NHL rave about Timmins 1st rounders (imagine that...) but didn't with Mac...

You know...
Just cant see us landing Theodore, really can't see Vegas giving him up, he seems like a building block they'll want to keep. I'm sure Bergevin will find another decent LHD though.

i for sure don't think mccarron will be a top 6 player but lets just relax a bit. last year was mccarron first long stint in the NHL 31 games 5-6 points. Let not forget that our captain, the one that diasspears every spring, had like 10 points in each of his first 2-3 seasons. same thing with philly danault until he blossom last year. for some players it just takes time.

one of the reasons why i dont like the beaulieu trade, he's still only 23 years old.. some defense don't even hit their prime until 25-27.

Yeah like Kostitsyn. Chipchura. Leblanc. Fischer. Beaulieu. Tinordi.

Timmins sucks in the first round for some reason. He can pull talent out of nowhere later on, but swings and misses far too often when he has a chance at elite level first round talent.

Wow - congratulations! Remember - with babies as with prospects, it's all about development.

And 17 years later, you'll be at their high-school graduation ceremony, which is where I'll be tonight while missing the action here.
