1. They can play in the Thomas and Mack for one season. I do believe that the current MGM arena is too small and not upgraded for an NHL team full-time.
2. And another thing. The NHL isn't going to confirm jack squat until it's official. They said until the nth hour that Atlanta wasn't moving. Well we all saw what happened there.
1. I personally don't know whether previous NHL preseason games occurred there, so does Thomas and Mack at UNLV have NHL-sanctioned ice rink?

"I've read articles that the NHL is heavily interested in expanding to Seattle. The problem is that the owner(s) of the new arena being built has a clause in his contract with the city(?). The clause says the arena must have a NBA team first. So NBA would need to relocate a team to Seattle or expand before the NHL can expand there."
