Exit Interviews

The fact that Cronin is being interviewed is confirmation he’ll be back. I remember after 22-23 the Ducks didn’t do them specifically because PV didn’t want Eakins to have to answer questions when he wasn’t being brought back
Where does it say he will be interviewed? If his interview is scheduled for after all the players it could mean Pat just wants to make sure the player feedback jives with the direction he was going as to Cronin's future status. Cronin's interview could then be nothing more than handing him his severance check.

But, for the record, I'm quite sure he will be back.

PV said playoffs are expectations next season and he has work to do this summer to improve the roster. So he will try and beef up this roster and if they are not in a playoff spot by say Jan, I could see Cronin getting the axe midway though. Key is to hire some really good assistants to improve special teams and someone who can be interim head coach if Cronin is let go midway.

It seems weird that the media hasn't been notified when they'll speak. It's not like the end of the season snuck up on them... it's been on the calendar for months and months.
Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but perhaps the reasoning is that Verbeek still has some decisions to make, re:coaching?

Just FYI, if you’re referencing the sound bite the team posted on social media where he talked about this stuff, that was recorded at least a week ago. That’s where they got the little snippets about the individual players like McTavish, Lacombe, etc. Not that it necessarily makes a difference, but just wanted to make it clear he didn’t say that after the season was over.

Well to improve the roster they have to make room for new players (or Strome getting demoted to 4th line although unlikely) so that means someone is getting traded or let go (Lundestrom/Leason/Harkins). I think there may even be a Dman being traded

I think it's a given that those 3 at the very least will be non-tendered. Heck, Leason already was once, but came back on a cheaper deal, I suppose Harkins can be brought back as an AHL call up type guy, but for sure the 4th line needs to be remade in a bad way, and more than just hoping Washe/Gaucher stick.

Harkins is under contract through next season

It would be concerning to me if Verbeek learned anything new about the coaches from these exit interviews. A good GM should keep track during the season of how things are going. I want the coaching staff gone, but doubt if anything in these interviews will be a determining factor.
Getting extended insight into how Cronin's message and verbal implementation of approaches, systems, strategies, etc. are sinking in for the players and ask them how they feel about that, their place on the team, what they need to work on next year, their outlook on the team and their place on the team, can be tough to do with whole roster during the regular season.

Your premise is absolutely correct to the extent that certain aspects in Verbeek's evaluation of his coaching staff's performance should be easily observable by watching the games and looking at the data. But I do think the players' insight can be valuable.

Talk about wishful thinking.
