Well it's exhibition but any game where Canada is playing Russia means something and is considered must win in my eyes.

Canada v Russia. Yes please.

Can't ****ing wait for that one.

Is this game broadcast on the radio? I'd like to listen to it at work if I can over my phone

My favourite and second favourite countries facing each other. I hope Canada doesn't destroy Russia too much. A Russian victory would be huge for their confidence.

So Duchene is banged up tonight so he's the scratch and O'Reilly draws in for Seguin? Shame, one of the older guys could've used the night off tonight I thought like Thornton.

Russia has had Canada's number at the WJC's for a while now.

Russian win tonight

Canada 8, Russia 1

Ovechkin : -7, 0 points, 10 shots blocked

I'm a Russian fan, but in this case, I actually hope you are right. This is a meaningless tune-up game, but by losing by a big score, Russia could actually gain a psychological advantage by losing by a big margin if they meet Canada down the road, particularly in the Semifinals. There is numerous precedent supporting my theory, but let me mention two examples.

First, the 1980 Olympics. The Soviets met Team USA 13 days before their Olympic meeting. The Soviets easily crushed Team 10-3, and as Boris Mikhailov pointed out in a US TV documentary, the Soviets concluded from their exhibition meeting that they would have an easy win against the USA on Feb 22, so why bother to get mentally prepared for the game. The other example is the 1981 Canada Cup, when the Soviets lost to Canada in the preliminary round 7-3, but then reversed the tables in the Championship game and beat Canada 8-1.

If Canada beats Russia badly tonight, it would be very difficult for them to conjure up a mental picture of Russia challenging them if they met later on.. Its just human nature. Znarok should experiment tonight and give the 3rd and 4th lines the majority of the ice time. Why not?

Last time they played Canada beat them for Gold?

Anyways, can't wait. Lets ****ing go. Always love playing Russia.

Go Canada Go!!

Lol. They really don't but one important detail you're missing is this is best in best. Russia hasn't won anything best on best since 1981, and it's one of the only ones they ever have.

Yeah, Russia isn't relevant in best-on-best, their defense can never hold up.

I'm expecting Canada to walk all over them, with something like a 7-3 score.
