Anyone know who's going to start in Goal for Sweden?

I actually just read in Metro that Lundqvist has been listed as the starting goalie in todays game.

I think we will se Sweden win this game, 3-1.

More on Forsberg's injury
According to Aftonbladet, Forsberg made his own decision that he is ready to play. His abdominal injury is not 100% healed, but Forsberg reckons that he will not get worse if he plays. He feels that now is the right time to start playing; otherwise he might not be in shape when the World Cup starts. Yesterday, Forsberg had a brief talk with the team's physician, Lennart Hovelius. The decision was made quickly: "Let's go. At one point you need to get started and the game versus Finland is the right time", Forsberg said. "It would be stupid if I took any chances. No, I feel this is the right time. Everything has worked out fine at the last training sessions". Lennart Hovelius admits that he doesn't completely know the status of Forsberg's injury, but that he trust Foppa's judgement. "It would have been best if Forsberg rested for the rest of the season (!), but at one point you need to start, and it feels like he (Forsberg) is ready".

Expected lines tonight

Alfredsson - Sundin - Axelsson / Johnsson - Lidström
Näslund - Jönsson - Forsberg / Norström - Ragnarsson
D. Sedin - H. Sedin - Zetterberg / Öhlund - Tjärnqvist
Nilson - Påhlsson - Holmström

Still no wording on who will start in the net (at least not in Metro, Stockholm). It will either be Lundqvst or Salo

Healthy scratches: Bäckman, Johansson, Ekman, Modin
injury: Tärnström

source: Metro-Express, Stockholm, 25 August, "Foppa" ska sänka Finland

My guess is that whoever starts tonight is the designated backup. I assume that Tellqvist is the starter (for now) and will play on friday and against the Czechs in a week. The backup should play now (in order to have played one game before the tournament stars) and against the Germans on tuesday (to prevent that Tellqvist will be forced to play two days in a row).

I hope Hardy doesn't have a plan that leaves Freddy Modin on the bench. I think we need his size and strength if we gonna go far in this tournament. I like that Holmström is added in the mix but Modin has to be there as well, to replace either Jönsson or Påhlsson.

Näslund - Forsberg - Nilson
Sedin - Sedin - Zetterberg
Modin - Sundin - Alfredsson
Axelsson - Påhlsson - Holmström

I'm a bit worried about that too. Ideally I'd like to see Modin play with Forsberg and Näslund, with Jönsson being scratched altogether. Hopefully Hardy is only trying to put pressure on Modin to perform better, though I very much doubt that Modin's place in the lineup will be at the expense of Jönsson's.

expect a loss.

Well, the last time Salo played for Sweden, we did beat the Finns. :)

By the way, Modin and Ekman are healthy scratches for Sweden. Tärnström is still injured, Bäckman is 7th d-man and Johansson 13th forward.

1-0 Finland, End of first period

Finland the better team here. Sweden hasn't played well with the exception when they have been shorthanded.
Olli Jokinen has been good and Mikko Koivu has actually stood out IMO. Quite impressed with him I must say.

The ref is taking too many penalties though.

finland was better in the first period, and salo let in a very soft goal :shakehead

Jönsson needs to get of the 2nd line.

You sure you are talking about Mikko? #11 right? ;)

Lots of penalties in the first period...is Finland starting to look like Summanen?

It sounds like a very hard fought game. A lot of rough stuff. I was wondering if that goal was a softie. When you get scored on in the first minute it usually is.

Sweden played a better 2nd period, and Forsberg & Naslund showed signs of brilliance. Naslund had 3-4 chances to score.

I don't think the ref is taking any penalties since they usually give penalties. ;)

Anyway, it seems a close game. I've been following it through the internet so thanks for the links and the comments.
