well that should have been a goal... shrug. guess that ref's instincts are international rules and not nhl rules.

Who would have had the assist if the goal counted?

I'm at work a can't see the game right now :(

Oh well, looks like there was miscommunication in regards to what rules to go by. I bet from now on we see it called by NHL rules

OEL wrister from left faceoff dot went in, but ref ruled Kruger had a crease violation or some crap. I didn't see any interference there.

What a disaster. Of a proportion that only the nhl could pull it off.

They didn't know the rules. The people enforcing them.

Horribad call but I don't know if that's "typical"

Commentators liking Jokipakka's game so far, I haven't really paid attention

Laine pretty meh second period so far. Then again, hard to shine when the puck is in your own end the whole time. Had 2 bad moves on pp though.

I don't think it has anything to do with the ref being finnish (if he made the call) but that he has called these for many years in a league where's a crease violation. Can totally understand if he made a mistake, but it was a bad one tho.

They are, and I think the Finnish referee just made a mistake on his interpretation of the different rules, with which he is not very experienced.

yup my thoughts as well, the delay was prob getting all the zebra's on the same page.

It's Swedish and Finnish refs. I was making a sarcastic remark.

Oh I know, the sarcasm was dripping. I just figured you might actually know if you were making the comment. I was unaware of whether they NHL refs for the exhibition games or not - figured I'd ask.
