Seattle is playing like this is a important regular season game, and the canucks have miller and boeser whose effort level can be questionable at times. Dont think the team was expecting an effort like this. I do agree it might be a bit much for a pre season game, but seattle is trying really hard. Cant fault them for it.

Blame JFresh cards that provide zero context

Those things are a plague of stupidity.

Blueger had a really bad year while Suter was kind of just the same. I like Suter as a guy who can play all-through the line-up. Blueger has a far more defined role and if he isn’t performing he doesn’t have a spot. Both are useful to the Canucks.

Blueger has historically been a better offensive player playing high-leverage 3C minutes than Suter has playing soft 2C minutes.

So we’re going to lose every pre season game while struggling to score then lose 6-5 in our opener aren’t we

A diaper would get this shit together better than what the team is doing.
Canucks havnt been ready since the start of the season since like 2012.

Seattle's kids look much faster and more engaged than ours who are already crossed off the roster.

Not much speed or pressure from Miller or Boeser but it's just their first preseason game. A couple smart area passes from Brock, who fed JT for what might have been our only scoring chance.

Suter seems like a workhorse at both ends of the ice, but nowhere as impressive as Blueger last game. Happy to see Joshua trying to keep the consistency.

I thought Hronek looked pretty sharp that period. Wolanin struggled in his own end.

Gotta feel bad for Podkolzin. Every game and every play seems to erode his confidence further.

Like I said, I like Blueger as the #3C and Suter as the guy that roams around the line-up filling in where needed. Different expectations as I’d be happy with 30 points from Suter as a utility guy and 20-25 from Blueger under very tough minutes. I wouldn’t want to see Blueger be the #2 C but I’m fine with Suter handling the role for a few games if need be. The only other option is Dries and he’s just not an NHL centre.

Boeser looks the same.
Miller looks like he could care less right now.
Garland/Beauvillier are your standard middle 6 wingers. Not much excitement there.

Aside from Bains...there really isn't a whole lot of value down in Abbotsford.

Hronek looks ok and I think should be a boost for the D group this year. They will need to lean heavy on Hughes though for any offense.

I will say that Beauvillier is in a contract year, Garland sees himself as a top six forward, and Suter has to be fighting to elevate himself and prove something to ensure he’s getting a bigger next contract.

That line has to be scoring at an extremely high per 60 pace. They’ll have three offensively capable middle six guys getting likely the softest minutes on the team. And the coach doesn’t seem to be particularly a big fan of any of them.

Seattle is simply bigger and faster. Our late period pp was ineffective as Kraken were on us like dirty shirts.
