I like Jake.

He's probably a bit sensitive, but a character in a good way, a good guy in the locker room.

He's just inconsistent, and that, for me, is a deal breaker.

In case you missed it, ex-Bruins first-rounder Jakub Zboril, who didn’t make the Devils’ backline on a PTO in September, late last month signed a five-year deal with Pardubice, Czechia (best known as hometown of Dominik Hasek and its legendary gingerbread). Zboril, sent out of Boston in the swap that brought back Andrew Peeke from Columbus, looked as if he finally figured out the NHL game early in the 2021-22 season, only to exit in game No. 10 (at Nashville) with a knee injury and subsequent surgery that ended his season …
