Strange concept. My guess is its for people who's team isn't doing well, so gotta support the conference. Everybody wants to have something to be proud of I guess.
Fans of teams that miss the playoffs like to tell themselves they'd be perennial eastern conference champs
Making a general statement that West is so much better is just silly, West has 4 great teams in La, Chi, STL and Ducks that are a step ahead of every other team in the league, the reast of the teams are pretty even across both conferences
People say the west is more physical, but that's probably just because LA has a rough image and has 2 cups. Is the west actually more physical? Has any one perused the data?
It absolutely is a more physical brand, especially when they are playing eachother.
Saying something along the lines of "Malkin couldn't handle it" is hilarious though. Anyone can handle it and score in it. There's just more physicality.

Just saying.

Getzlaf, for example, would be right behind him (not with current play but at his best) and possibly could take the spot in any given year.
Edmonton is the one of the only teams that actually has the assets to acquire him.
Maybe because some teams in the West that missed the playoffs have more points than teams that made them in the East
Probably a PPG player?
He wont be the 90-100 one he is in the East.
And to those that say West isn't tough...well if East was that "tough", why do the Oilers do better against the East?
