Vancouver would be pretty shallow at centre if they traded byfield for miller. That being said byfield is super young with a high ceiling. Could be a steal. But then what do they do about 2nd line centre?
I thought Byfield could get a shot there. The problem with a Pettersson or Miller trade is that we are likely going to lose the trade but we will likely lose it by even more if we have to get some duffer c back that we don't want so we can try to make the playoffs this yr.

Yeah I’m not buying it.

It’s pretty easy for everyone involved to just say “there is no conflict, no issue, end of story.”

Instead you get these soft dances around the question and coy non-admissions from Boudreau, Hughes, and management.
Obvious locker room squabbles, that’s common with teammates on teams that are underperforming. It’s no secret why this only surfaced when the team struggled.

I'd gladly trade Miller for Byfield. Could be a pretty great win/win trade in fact cause lets be honest LA has a shot with Kopy and Doughty still performing (assuming hes back soon) and are gonna be rebuilding after that. Byfield prob doesn't look like a franchise cornerstone at this point but he could be a good 2c in Van.

My mind is like a bird, flying free.

But surely they could just point to the defense for the lack of production right. Forbert, Soucy, Desharnais, Myers, Juulsen are who are in charge of getting your the puck if capitan is taking a breather.
FREE-ERRRR:

And reduce the values of Defenceman they also want to rid themselves of and upgrade on? I think not.

Usually there’s something to those squabbles.

Bfugylien (horribly misspelled lol)
Evander Kane/Hertl
Karlsson/Hoffman
Subban
Deangelo
Georgiev
etc.

It being overblown is the exception, not the rule.

Those were all very well documented interactions, this isn’t.

This is more like the Nurse/Draisaitl one where media is scratching to make something out of nothing.

And even the Nurse/Drai one died down despite the Oilers struggling. It also never actually got described in media like this has.

Why?

Right is rarer and more expensive and just not available as much

Left is substantially easier
That’s why I said a better center would be required. If the Canucks feel Willander can step into a top 4 role in the near future than a top 4 LD is a bigger priority. Getting a better center than Coyle in return should be a must in any deal.

2G+2A through 50m tonight against Montreal.

Can't tell if this is a "f*** it, I'm not leaving! Let's go!" game or a "f*** you, this is what you are going to miss" game.
Lol valid point! I think he’s staying…at least that’s what he has said. Loves Vancouver, family loves it, doesn’t want to go. Either way, it was nice to see him have a great game tonight…even though they took the L

JT Miller tonight.

2 Goals
2 Assists
3 Shots
2 Blocks
6 Hits
+3

Fired up
That’s one hell of a stat line

He's either good, not good or both.
I agree, disagree and am on the fence. I think we're doing it right aren't we?

Oh, and add in 'I'll say this...'

I'd keep him over EP40. That playoff run last year was the proof in the pudding. One of the two showed up and had the entire arena shouting his name after goals. The other scooted home and doesn't seem to want to be here.

2024 Playoffs:

Miller, 13 GP, 12 Pts
EP40 13 GP, 6 Pts

One doubled up, the other couldn't take the pressure. Lots can change and I have faith that EP40 can take the next step but it doesn't look like it can be with Miller.

Miller stepped up tonight but proves they need Pettersson as a game breaker. Figure it out as it’s hard to get 2 point per game Centers that have the potential for 100 points each.
