Yup. I don't think there would be much of an add if it were McTavish and Mintyukov, maybe a 2nd. I couldn't see it being a first. And might not really be anything more, not sure. I have heard positive response from Anaheim fans with regards to it though.

And you're right you could look to capitalize on a team that needs to shed salary the way Utah picked up Sergachev.
With the first it’s sold. Top 10 protected and defers to next year if not.

Yes I’m very aware of Peteys flash-in-the-pan 100 pt season. But I don’t think that’s the player he is, things went very right that contract season, it’s an outlier season.

Whereas I think and have always thought Eichel has always been the more complete centerman that could be a perennial 90-100 pt centerman. It’s just that nothing ever went right in Buffalo for that to happen. Now that he’s on the fully integrated on knights as the go-to guy, that is proving out. He should hit over 100 pts this season if he stays healthy for the full 82. And it’s likely that continues on during his prime years. Injuries may have stopped him from already doing it last year.
He was totally different after his injury though

if it were Ana/Van i wonder if Zegras + Mctavish + Mintyukov for Ep + Hoglander would work.

Ana gets by far the best player in the deal, but if Zegras can get back to where he was a couple seasons ago, Vancouver gets better as a whole.
Crazy Canucks will never get that, like ever or it would be done already. Top 3 recent pick, top 10 recent pick and Zegras who was also a top 10 pick?

McTavish, Mintyukov and a Second gets it done 100%. If it turns into a 1st it’s a homerun.

Pettersson and Carlsson as a 1/2 would be a force.

Id go full Bernmeister to get that 2025, currently #8 overall included...

Pettersson, Hoglander, Anthony Romani, some 29 yr old russian on our reserve list, and like 5 late picks spread out over 8 years while retaining %41 of Romani's elc deal

For

McTavish, Minty or Solberg, and #8 Overall

Then slowly work my way down to your deal and accept in a instant even as a 2026 2nd.

With last season and this Zegras may not be worth what he was when he put up back to back 60 pt seasons. He also has injury concerns. I don't think it is too far fetched as a base.

As a base? I agree Verbeek has soured on him but he’s not a throw in at his age. If Canucks management had that offered it’s a no brainer and Petey would be a Duck

I kinda want it to happen the same way too.

First Allvin trades Petey instead of Miller, then everyone assumes its all cool now and we'll just keep Miller but the real ones know and shortly thereafter Miller is traded as well.

Underwhelming returns at the time ushered in the next two leaders in our dressing room, albeit it took a few years for Bo and Marky to get there.

Maybe we get the rumored EDM package of two extra assets this time, and use the capspace wisely and not on David Booth.

Canucks had David Booth for nearly 2 years before trading Schneider, and Schneider

Seriously I know Schneids didnt make much but I dont see a single big addition to that sad sack roster the year after Schneids and before Bo started for us.

11,600,000 is probably different than what Schneids made I guess.

For

EP40 and Hoglander

Damn just realized Blomqvist is somehow Finnish and not Swedish. Ruins the whole thing

Schneider made 4m a year in 2012, equivalent to 6m this year.

Can’t see Dubas pulling the trigger. In a vacuum it’s fair value for both sides

Carolina fan here.

We made a push last year for EP, and we're rumored to be interested again. Sure would be nice if things worked out this time around.

Having Aho and EP as our top 2 centermen still sounds amazing.
Canes reportedly offered Necas + Kotkaniemi + Morrow + 2025 1st Rounder before EP was signed long term.

With him locked up, I'd imagine a similar package is available, especially since Necas has come back down to earth lately.

I think Vancouver should strongly consider this offer. It gives them a mix of everything. Some win-now players, some youth and some futures.

Don’t take it too seriously I was trying to construct an all Swedish blockbuster

Necas has more value than this time last year and Pettersson has less

Canucks don't want Lafferty back, how's Greenway doing? Any update on his injury?
Well, you could take Krebs, a versatile player who would replace Hoglander in your lineup, but could also play center and be more useful in the bottom 6. You could take Greenway instead of Krebs, but he's injured and will probably be back in late February, probably. Depends on who you want and for what role.

Only asking because Allvin allegedly called BUF on Greenway last season, and Tocchet loves his trees.

I wouldn't be opposed to adding Krebs, I think he has some upside and I like having versatility, but the heart wants what the heart wants and Tocchet wants 6'6 players.

Well, of the three, I like Greenway the most, a solid third-line player, physical and defensively competent.
