Fans change their support from players based on current sentiments always. This doesn't change the fact Miller has been one of if not our most consistent valuable players the last few years........Right now his attitude sucks and he's had god only knows what going on in his personal life.

If Miller started giving af and got his head out of his ass those same fans would be extolling his praises after a few short games.

Any team trading for him is not trading for the guy who's got his head in his ass right now..........is his value a bit less due to this situation? Absolutely......HOWEVER .yes he has been 13th overall in points or whatever it was the last x of years while playing a heavy game.

His time in Van may have run it's course........it happens.

As a fan my first wish would be to keep him...........when he's playing his game he's gonna be WAY better than any other player we would get back in a trade and you hate to lose a guy like this - even if it's warranted now due to the situation......

Would the Devils fans have interest in Canucks:

1. JT Miller

2. Brock Boeser

3. Or both? Great chemistry between them

From a Canucks fan point of view Canucks should have interest in:

Siegenthaler, Cotter, Mercer, Nemec, picks coming back as a potential return
 
The only way Miller is getting dealt to NJ is if Palat is coming back and I don't think the Canucks are interested. And we're not retaining on his contract either as it's for 7 more years.Boeser @ 50% to the Devils could get back something good but unlikely Nemec unless Canucks are adding their first.

Too many variables on the Miller thing for me to really say for sure. His acquisition isn't about just him as a player. I've said for years that Miller would be a player that Fitz likes, but I can't speak for what's going on behind the scenes there. If Quinn isn't a fan of Miller, I'd be very worried about the situation with Jack / Luke and I think you just avoid it altogether. There's a lot of due diligence / character work that Fitz can do within the Devils org (Markstrom, Palat, and I believe Lazar have all been Miller teammates in the past). I don't think Fitz would trade for him if he believes there's potential for that to turn into EP / Miller pt 2, but again, this is beyond my scope.

As for a trade value - Vancouver fans wouldn't like my stance there. I don't think he's got the market for me to have to put in someone like Nemec. Full NMC to dictate where he goes. Questionable locker room stuff probably impacts who wants him. The rangers apparently offered Zib for him straight up which is not a great offer for Miller, so I don't know why I'm going above and beyond that right now. I'd be okay putting Mercer in a Miller package if the background checks out, but I'm not sure I'm offering a ton more on that.

I'd probably offer 2 seconds for Boeser as a rental. I'm not sure that there's a long term piece in that partnership, but I can't say for sure. Could depend on a lot. The expectation is Gritsyuk comes over next season and maybe Lenni, so there may be some internal options up front rather than paying him his contract demands.

if I was NJD I’m not paying a premium for Miller, if for no other reason than his contract could get ugly in a few years. If I’m committing to a high AAV with term, it’s gonna be a guy who more closely fits the timeline of the core. Especially if they have aspirations of eventually adding Quinn

NJ makes alot of sense as far as suitors. Miller could help take them to another level & they have young NHL ready players the Canucks would want.

Seems like this is coming to an end. It really sucks as a Canucks fan, we seemed poise to take a step, JT is so important & such a fan favourite here, but if they can get a great return I understand wanting to move on from the drama & shake up the team.
