First off i just wanna say i feel so proud to see Canada win gold once again. its amazing how a great game of hockey can remind me of how proud iam to be a canadian=) now regarding the team, do you guys feel like all questions were answered about team canadas line up and overall gameplay? because eveyone knows at the start of this tournament we had alot of questions going in.

there was alot of discussion about carter at the start until he got the hat trick and then after that everyone started blaming crosby/kunitz and then ppl start mentioning not enough goals were being scored, at the end of the day is everyone here satisfied with team canadas overall individual gameplay (without including results) and does anyone still regret any of the players chosen on the roster?!

The team was great. I let them down by losing faith but they did our country proud.

They were fantastic. The lack of offense made it closer than it should have been so I won't give them props for offense but the team played very good, especially defensively.

A bit of a slow start... But when it mattered they hit another gear and blew everyone away. Fantastic team effort, extremely talented, great defense, coaching off the chart. They werent scoring as advertised but other than that.. absolutely flawless.

Honestly, I believe they would have won gold if you changed the entire forward group with any of the other top 7 nations.. the coaching, defense and goaltending were that good. Even though they wouldnt have been as good as they were now obviously.

Best TEAM I have ever witnessed.

Almost scary to think what this Olympics would've been like had Canada scored consistently. Best defense I've ever seen. Never liked the Kunitz pick, and still don't.

I told you kevyd, don't worry, to be the best, you have to beat all the challengers. I think most thought before the tournament, that it was going to be a 3 way battle between the usa Sweden and Canada for the gold. We beat both challengers, although I would have loved to have beaten Russia in the final. The swedes just didn't seem to bring to much passion into the semifinal and final game

Yup. You were right. :)

Easily the best team this time around. Solid games and deserved winners. But overall the tournament was really disappointing. Only Canada was at the level i expected. The rest was either missing key players or just tired, poorly motivated or something.
But congrats to Canada.

Its the best team I have ever seen to be honest. They were just so smothering defensively and had so much control of the games. The last two games I hardly even felt like the opposition even had a chance at scoring.

Domination, nothing really else can be said. Felt wierd cheering for a team you know was going to win it all, It's usually the opposite being a leafs fan:thumbd:

Best team Canada has sent to the Olympics since the NHL starting sending its players in 1998 (I believe?). Best team defense I've seen in a long time.

The 2010 team was more dramatic in how they won gold, but this year's version was just a better overall team, and outplayed their opponents by a greater degree than the 2010 team did.

Superbly selected and coached.

Not sure why Canadians got up in arms over the initial player selection as well as the lineups when the result was dominating every game.

Very glad Kunitz sniped one in the final game. Said, 'Shut up, haters!' very loudly.

And Rick Nash? Defensive stud? Who knew.

Just a complete team buy-in. There wasn't even a legit tournament MVP for Canada. Price faced like one bad situation all tourney long. Nobody lit it up a lot. Doughty was a 3rd pairing guy. No egos. No prima donna stuff. They just did their job, listened to the coach, and simply overwhelmed every other team. This may be the best 'Total Team' ever assembled for a tournament.

Oh, and they did it with class and grace too. No over the top crap in any celebration. No panicking at any time. They knew they were the best and just went out there and got it done.

Never doubted this team for a minute, and I can't say that about any other team Canada since the 2004 World Juniors and never before that.

Even when they were not scoring, they were dominating the opposition. I have to wonder what it was like being on the opposing bench and realizing that every time you launch an attack the best transition players in world were in your face, stealing or blocking the puck and creating a chance in the other end.

If we are being honest, if it was not for some spectacular goaltending performances, this Olympics is not even close.

The ultimate team performance. Everybody bought in, no passengers. Exceptional.

Well said

Complete team effort.

I lol'd when everyone was *****ing about Babcock line changing. He found the perfect mesh of forwards to play with eachother and it showed. Fantastic coaching from the entire staff, and great job by Yzerman and team to choose a complete team.

Ed Snider looks pretty stupid right now after his comments about Yzerman not knowing anything about Hockey.

When hockey coaches sneak away from the wife to get a bit of me time on the computer, they will be watching highlights of this Team Canada.

On the negative side, this tournament may have told the entire NHL as well that we should expect more and more tight, defensive hockey. Not great, as a lot of teams just don't have the skill to make the games still entertaining.

He was defending his franchise player. Give it a rest

To be fair - at the beginning of both the Swedish & US games it was nearly 50/50 for a while, then Canada always seemed to step it up and notch and force play into the oppositions zone. After that it was game over.

When you look back it seems like Canada coasted their way to Gold. They dominated every opponent they faced, never trailed for a second (extremely amazing stat...I don't think it will be replicated for a LONG time), and just played a team game.

They were the best on paper going into the tournament and they proved it once again on the ice.

The complete buy-in by the players is what made this team special. When inflated ego multimillionaires care more about winning at all costs for their country, then you got something special.

Pride.......something that is so lost in todays NHL is alive and well when national pride on the line.

If some of you old time Hab fans remember, players like Richard Zednick and Martin Rucinsky were beast when playing for their country.....and paycheck receivers when playing in the NHL. We don't see the same level of difference for Canadians simply because if they are not great players, they never make the Canadian team.
