Everyone just Breathe

Damn.

This is well said sir.

:):)

If the musicians can play while the Titanic goes down, I can still keep the hype going even though we're a slightly smaller statistical favourite than we were at the start of the series. I'm the man who put the 'fat' back in 'indefatigable' and I'm not gonna stop that now.

Until the first fluke playoffbuck goal goes in off the old picture of the Queen then the chances of winning will be reversed.

I

At this point, I'm expecting at some point for the Blues to shoot it backwards, and a wormhole appears in the end boards and it just pops out directly into the net from hyperspace.

I have read so many pages of comments over the last few days that have pretty much sealed the Jets fate; to the point that I have never seen a fanbase of a team that is either up 2-1 or tied 2-2 in a series, in which they have home ice advantage, write their team off as confidently as Winnipeg fans have.

I fully recognize that these last 2 games have yielded terrible results, and that the momentum has shifted significantly over to the Blues, but even with that said the Jets still have a really good chance (the favourites) to come out of this series on top.

As much as everyone can point to how terrible we’ve been on the road in Games 3 & 4, I don’t see how these same people can say with such confidence that it’s a forgone conclusion that St Louis will come into Winnipeg and win?!

St Louis had 2 (maybe you can give them a third) solid periods in Winnipeg; both first periods. That’s it! Yes, the final scores have been closer in games 1 & 2 then they have been in 3 & 4, but if you actually breakdown the stats, Winnipeg has dominated the second half of both of those games. When it was time to close each one out, the Blues had a total of 7 shots in both 3rd periods combined.

This series has clearly favoured the home teams, and we have 2 out of 3 in Winnipeg!

I am not looking to convince anyone that it’s anywhere close to a lock that we’re going to win, but the negativity and utter certainty that we have already “lost” this series is just as crazy.

Can we still lose, sure. Can we still win, absolutely; but this board has rode with the Jets all season long. Through the doubts at the start of the year that we’re even a playoff team, to the surprise to almost all that we finished with the best record in the NHL, and everything in between.

Most of us have cheered and believed in this team, through so much worst then a 2-2 series in which we still have the home ice advantage.

I strongly encourage everyone to take a breath…. this series is far from over!

Good advice. BTW, are you a person or a TNSE AI chatbot? Serious question given your profile and history.

This is where we can't also pretend missing two top six forwards hasn't hurt some. I'm inclined to think "nah they really just don't want to win" is less a factor than "no Vilardi no Ehlers" -- thankfully we are nearly certain to rectify half that problem by Wednesday.
And St.louis is missing their third highest scoring forward.
The Blues are scoring by committee- 12 different goal scorers vs 7 from the Jets

Sorry but the proof is in the pudding based on the Jets last 10 losses in the playoffs.
First, once the loss they cannot stop the bleeding lost 4 straight (after a win in each series) to Vegas and Col and in the 10 losses they have allowed 53 goals. Please let that sink in.
It is not fluke when it happens 3 years in a row.

I know they are coming home for game 5 but not even the most positive of players or confident of coaches must be feeling uneasy.

I hope I am wrong but this is all too familiar and they have not changed the core that were all party to the last 2 collapses.

I dislike the Oilers but they played at such a frenetic pace the last two games to come from behind to win whereas the Jets give up 2 goals in a period and the coach says the game was lost.

There is a gigantic disconnect between this team in the regular season vs the playoffs.

Until the last whistle blows in either game 6 or 7 i will be cheering my ass off for my Winnipeg Jets. The series is 2-2 and we have home ice advantage. I still like the Jets chances to win the series.
Someone pointed out that the Jets haven't won a game in the playoffs after suffering a loss since 2020. I think they need to show some resiliency themselves before they can expect the fans to.
I agree with both of you. It ain't over til it's over but at this point I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

To keep my spirits up I've been catching up on the Inanna/Stumbledore drama because apparently I somehow missed all of that.

I'm fine with a charity bet on this series to go with our Leafs / Jets long laster. I'll take the Jets straight up. Lemme know if you're interested :)

No stress folks.....If we can't get past even the Blues in round 1 there is ZERO chance we would get by the next couple of rounds....Only question to answer now is are we a real team or just a paper tiger.....

lol, I am very much a real person.

Truth be told I have followed HFboards for almost a decade now, but never wanted to post as I can get just as frustrated as the next person and didn't want to dive into the world of back and forths.

There are many posters I really enjoy following/reading, and appreciate the effort and the passion (for the most past) of our fan base.

:) Indefatigable?

A fine Juggernaut (and role model), ca. 1784.

Welcome to the grand interaction, the great ongoing experiment.

Whatever happened to the guy that uncovered that whole thing. Barnaby Jones? Did a search on that name and nothing came up.

Maybe the 3 of them were the same person? Maybe we're all the same person??
I think Barnaby had to change his /her handle when the site broke. Or ya they were all three of the same people.

But didn't you start a thread about how Winnipeg doesn't get any respect ? If us Jets fans don't then how do you expect people from Toronto to ? Don't give up until the final whistle blows.:thumbu:
SORRY the Jets earned respect in the reg season by being resilient, determined and capable....

getting blown out and looking like kids among men in back to back playoff games ,. having ZERO ability to even look at all competitive...or capable....

has spent whatever capital and confidence they had earned with me is gone...

blown out 12-3 with nothing in terms of pushback?

sorry nope. not riding this merry go round again.
