Every Leafs Season Since 2017 Follows The Same Trend

They haven't proportionate distribution to G and D since signing JT

Currently they have majority of cap in 4 forwards and need scoring
patch work and three goalies that have never been a starter

You just can't nickel and dime on D and G and expect to compete in the playoffs...imo

They should have traded nylander when he was still making 6 something and had great value .....ignoring that they should never have signed JT and used that cap on Pieterangelo

I wish this thread had legs, but it doesn't. It can barely stand up.

In past years TOR didn't have the injury issues.

It would be nice if TOR won their division, but you have to be amazed at how well they've done when you consider how many key players have been injured.

Last night's game was a good example. Amazing that they could compete with MIN with the horrible center depth they have at this point.

Wild were down Kaprizov.

We apparently have the 2nd or 3rd best player in the world but he was Casper last night.

After 50 games this year they are in a similar position and look eerily similar to previous years. A lot of pressure on the 53% to learn how to play hockey in the next 12 weeks.

They screwed themselves permanently the minute they gave Nylander his new contract. Now the only thing left to watch is what bonehead move they pull next. I think we better be prepared to lose Marner this year and Matthews 3 years later, leaving us with an aging overpaid Nylander and nothing else going forward.
