The thing is, MTL is contemplating extending Evans as well and doesn't need picks anymore, and does not need depth pieces either.I still think we should be able to get a more solid piece in trading Nemec than a 10-15 pick. While I think we would probably be able to lock Evans up I think we have other assets that can be used to get him.
Maybe even Gritsyuk and a 2nd or something for Evans makes sense since he’s Demidov’s teammate in SKA.

So if that offer is rejected and similar ones, Evans is most probably extended in Montreal.
Who else is available and better than Evans with that casting (3C, PK, 5vs5 producer) that NJ can target with Nemec at his value.
I mean getting a 1st as well provides flexibility to add more pieces.
