Nowhere did I say the Oilers retain half, I spoke to a bad team picking him up, playing the majority of the season with said team, and that team trading him and retaining half.why would the Oilers retain half his salary when the whole point of trading him is to gain cap space.
might as well keep him if you are only saving 2.5M and spend most of it on a replacement winger.
He probably promised someone $1M that he would take part in the handshake line.So it might br nothing but I noticed after Florida beat Edmonton last night that Evander Kane did not take part in the handshake line.
and that got me thinking has Evander Kane played his last game in Edmonton?
If so where does he go? And for what?
He’s got one more year. He’s a winger who can score, play with top players, and plays heavy and fights. He will have a market.
Agree the return will be close to futures. Oilers will be satisfied to move the contract. But it will be a contract year for Kane. And in the right room (lots of leadership and proven winners) he might just have a good year. He’s been a mediocre scorer for the last three years while sinking his team with penalties in the playoffs. There’s likely a fit somewhere but I don’t see a tremendous return going back to Edmonton.
I cannot imagine the desperation it takes to claim that the president trophy-winning team is not relevant.Ok all relevant teams would want him then...
That is what everyone claimed when the Sharks brought him on. Jumbo, Patty, Burns, Couture, Pavs. Similar for Edmonton. Hard to believe people haven’t learned he is a ****bag and wears out his welcome everywhere he goes in ~3 years.A club with a strong leadership group will get him for cheap, and he will be fantastic for them. I’m saying it’s Vegas, Dallas, Tampa, Florida, or Carolina.
They looked like an 8th seed in the playoffsI cannot imagine the desperation it takes to claim that the president trophy-winning team is not relevant.
Well, I don't agree. But on top of that, Bennett hasn't had any issues off the ice. This guy would be awesome in Toronto. They need some of that on their team. Just talking roster, he’d be a good fit there. Not under the spotlight of Toronto though.
The only difference between Kane and Bennett is Bennett doesn’t get caught.
Korpisalo isn’t the answer in goal for us. He's not good.I would acquire Kane in a swap for Korpisalo
