Value of: Evander Kane

I was enjoying the summer, it's been beautiful.

You were probably sitting inside like:

You were enjoying the summer in the spring?

More like you were in hiding because the Oilers being good causes you physical pain.

Goal scoring is overstated? I dunno about that. I came back - I mean Evander came back ;) from surgery, first game of the season was game 2 of the playoffs. He didn't play his best but still to come back from injury and play in the toughest games of the year is admirable. Everyone clapped when Landeskog did it, but when Evander does it he gets called a pos.
Not remotely why he's called a POS. Him skipping the handshake line is a clue for you

He was already half undressed in the locker room, like he's gonna go back out there to shake ratboy's hand after chasing him around...give me a break 🙄

When you have the reputation he does, if you care about changing it, you don't get half undressed and you make sure to go out there and show some class. That's not Evander though

K bud there's 2 other threads to discuss handshakes, you can go there and post about that. This thread is about his value on the trade market. Which every team would go for Kane at the right price.

A power forward who scored 11 points in his first 15 playoff games this season is not getting cap dumped/bought out lol. He probably wont return a lot in a trade but he wont cost significant assets to move either. Even Chris Kreider returned positive value in a trade with no retention.

Kreider doesn’t carry Kanes baggage

So it might br nothing but I noticed after Florida beat Edmonton last night that Evander Kane did not take part in the handshake line.

and that got me thinking has Evander Kane played his last game in Edmonton?

If so where does he go? And for what?

Diminishing talent, poor teammate, big mouth, crazy ex-girlfriend and poor sportsmanship...good luck to whoever wants this loser.

And my post is trying to explain to you why he has next to no value, something few people on here don't already know

He's getting moved and he's not negative value some posters seem to think. For all his negatives, he performed very well up until game 3 of the finals where everyone on the Oilers decided to implode.

Management also very clearly sees Fredric as the Kane replacement (i hate that contract, 8 years at 4m is awful). So they have a plan to move off of Kane, won't be a great return but it won't cost the Oilers anything to move him imo.

Kane couldn’t keep a low profile in Winnipeg, Buffalo or SJ. Imagine him under the microscope in Toronto.
He should embrace it and go full troll. Sean Avery 2.0

He’s done fine in Edmonton. I think he’s grew up a lot. Still not mature but good power forwards are hard to find.

Likely waived. Be shocked if someone doesn't pick him up.
One year left, wears out his welcome pretty quick. I'm betting he behaves for a year to get another contract.
Brings a nice bit of mean and scoring to those who need.
When he's on, he's great. When he's not, liability.
Any draft picks received would be a bonus. But it's the Oiler's management, so take an expected return and divide by 50.

to me, I don't think any team is going to want this guy. Time after time this guy is a cancer for teams. Selfish and dumb. This should be a buyout candidate for the Oilers.

Ummm, why would we trade him? He brings a lot of qualities that we are light on (namely physicality/protecting teammates). He puts up solid numbers in the playoffs. If the motivation is to free up money to acquire a different winger, I think people will be disappointed when they see what $5mil buys.

I would gladly run it back with Kaner 1 more year. I’d like to see Knoblauch try Kane-Nuge-Hyman together in the regular season. I thought they looked good together.

If we’re looking to free up a bit of coin, I’d prefer to move Henrique and Arvidsson (though easier said than done considering their NMC’s).

I'm just a fan of his game. You don't see that kind of physicality with goal scoring finesse that much anymore. For the right price every team in the league would be interested in him.
Some of you are sleeping on what a locker room cancer he is. This is the NHL, not a video game.
