So it might br nothing but I noticed after Florida beat Edmonton last night that Evander Kane did not take part in the handshake line.

and that got me thinking has Evander Kane played his last game in Edmonton?

If so where does he go? And for what?

He was being an idiot and got a game misconduct. Not a surprise he didnt do the handshake line. I am sure the Oilers would love to get rid of his contract, however there wont be a lot of takers willing to accept it and his baggage.

e's a legitimate top 6 LW I'm sure there would be some interest. I xould see Toronto, Tampa and possibly Ottawa being interested depending on what happens with Giroux, maybe Boston too because I'm still not convinced they are embracing the rebuild.

He’s got one more year. He’s a winger who can score, play with top players, and plays heavy and fights. He will have a market.

But how will that market line up with his limited NTC? He has a 15-team no trade list. He's not going to put teams like Buffalo, San Jose and Winnipeg on the no-trade list because we all know they're not going on that ride again

Some team may be ok acquiring him because of the reasons you stated, but he has proven that he is a hothead and also does not appear to be the best locker room influence. He will very likely require retention and possible even a small/medium asset attached to get rid of.

I'd be tempted to move him for the Price contract. Edmonton gets an LTIR contract ie, cap room), Montreal gets a top 6 winger who could be an attractive rental to sell off if the playoffs are out of reach.

I would wager he does his best to nix any trade so he can stay in Edmonton. Playing on a team with McDrai gives him the best chance to inflate his point totals and secure another deal once this one expires.

He'll probably be bought out or traded to the Leafs for their DNA change.
This guy would be awesome in Toronto. They need some of that on their team.

The only difference between Kane and Bennett is Bennett doesn’t get caught.

There was also that unnecessary and potentially damaging (he didn't get called) slash towards the end of the game. We've seen some epic comebacks so I think it was absolute horseshit for him to be acting like that when you are 3 goals down with 5 minutes left (or something like that). I'd say the difference between Kane and Bennett is about 40 IQ points and Kane has an overactive amygdala.

What is he worth? I wouldn't want him but you might be able to peddle him off to a desperate team with 50% retention for an AHL player. Drama factory.
I would have said he was worth his buyout value but capwages is telling me "This player is not eligible for a buyout as their contract ends before the next buyout window."

You guys can have Zibanejad for him if you want

Im not one to say "negative value contract" often but his is a negative.

He's streaky, dumb as rocks, with a ton of baggage. Why would a team give up assets for him?

I doubt he gets bought out, although it would save them almost 2.7 million so MAYBE.

I wouldn't mind if they took a shot at him, the team does need help on the wing especially at LW.

They got Knies and Bobby McMann and I like Bobby McMann but he's a 3LW there is a piece missing.

Same thing on the RW you got Nylander and you got Domi there is a piece missing, ideally Domi is a 3RW, although he has shown he can play with Matthews so RW is in better shape.

Regardless Kane would help either side but I wouldn't want to trade a ton to get him.

Kane is a disgrace and hopefully, he never gets to wear a Canadiens' jersey.
