Ekholm, Skinner and yes Bouchard. That is correct1st goal was definitely on Bouchard.
Very rough game by him, his worst of the serie.
I vote trade him. I've seen enough of his nonchalant play. People say that's his style but I see not a care in the world.

Seems the best path to keep Bouchard is arbitration, it’s the only way we can get a fair number for his amazing talent and also amazingly poor defensive game. His counting stats could give him a bigger salary number but also there’s the counter argument about low plus/minus for a high scoring player and also defensive metrics like GA/60 or on ice sv%
I don’t think a player can be offer sheeted when going to arbitration (will need to read up more) and if the arbiter rules for the player, the Oilers retain rights, but can’t trade him for a year. There’s danger not reupping him for multiple years, but we can only hope the Oilers have learned the lessons of the Nurse contract and not give away the store to a brilliant yet flawed player.
Also many arbitration cases are settled before a hearing, so there could be a compromise.
I think the only path to trade him would be before July 1st.

That's playing with fire, man. Arbitration cases, if they get that far, get pretty ugly. Just pay the guy his money. That's the price.. Bouchard in spite of his defensive warts is overall, a top D in the playoffs. We cannot draft another guy like that for the foreseeable future. They will have to excise the rot from the rest of the roster but that's the price.

There’s 13 days to make a deal. Or he’s getting offer sheeted, and if his agent isn’t liking the Oilers offer, or feeling he can get more, he’d be angling towards that. Newly raised cap, teams flush with space.
So do you deal with that and let other teams dictate the price or go to arb?
Our fans have been all over Nurse for that contact since the day it was signed, do we want a repeat?
I'd argue unlike Nurse, Bouchard by and large performs in the playoffs. We have no one else who can produce like him, in reg season or playoffs. Sign him.

Not even past the Kings without Bouch. He emerged with some massive plays to get us past the Canucks last year too.
This team rides so close to the edge of not good enough but gets lifted by moments of elite talent. Too bad we ran into a team with the depth to smother and relentlessly shadow our handful of talent and still had enough good players to make the rest of our lineup look like they barely belong in a cup finals.

Some fans never learn. A lot seem to have, for lack of a better phrase “Bouchard Derangement Syndrome”
Dude has some truly rough defensive moments, but puts up HOF numbers in the playoffs and has boosted the team to key wins.
The whole team was booty tonight, but some will single him out because reasons (see above)
On the flip side a lot of fans/majority of fans seem to have Bouchard blinders on and think he's easily a top 10 defenceman. Why is this not talked about?????????

He performs on the pp and has a solid point shot.
I remember when Tyson Barrie did a good job with this pp.
I feel we can replace him with Walman on the pp.
Ideally someone offers him 12 and we take picks.
The Oilers would have never sniffed the finals in these last 2 years without Bouchards heroics. You absolutely keep this kid. You're nuts if you think otherwise
Neutral fan here but I saw a minimum of 4 clear giveaways from Bouchard that led to very good scoring chances.
Very good offensive ideas and shot but o be a lead Dman? Pass, you'd be very lucky if an offer sheet bails you out of making a long and costly mistake on this guy.

The guy has pretty good 5 on 5 stats and ended up with 17 even strength points, but yes lets continue to call him a PP only guy

If you're going to get 10+ million regular season salary you need to be solid both ends of the ice and not take months off at a stretch.
He has done excellent in the playoffs no doubt about it.
