His partial break kinda caught me off guard, really wheeled in there to create a real nice chance
Loved that for sure and it's good to see him bring more of that to his game these playoffsHis partial break kinda caught me off guard, really wheeled in there to create a real nice chance
Bad game from Bouchard so far (10 min 3rd) we'll see if he has really turned the corner by how he plays the rest of the series.
Tonight tho he is getting overwhelmed in the D zone and looks lost offensively a bit
Hopefully it's just a 1 off and he re gains his previous play

The guy made the Barkov and Tkachuk lines look like Matt Duchene and Jamie Benn lines, going 12-6 in shots and 2-0 in goals in 17:25 against them. But you think he had a bad game because of one giveaway.Bad game from Bouchard so far (10 min 3rd) we'll see if he has really turned the corner by how he plays the rest of the series.

Glad to see that the underlying stats reflected Kapanen having his best game of the playoffs too.![]()
Bouchard was the best D by a significant margin.
What does this chart say about Walman?Glad to see that the underlying stats reflected Kapanen having his best game of the playoffs too.
No, they say that he did okay defensively relative to his main linemates but the team overall gave up a lot of chances when he was on the ice. Which makes sense given that he was on ice for 2 goals against, but wasn't really the primary offender. First goal against was Bennett interference which shouldn't have counted anyway. 2nd goal against maybe he could've played the pass instead of the shot, but the bigger issues were Henrique getting blown by and Brown+Walman communication breakdown where both went towards puck carrier. What does this chart say about Walman?
He was good defensively as an individual but as a team we sucked defensively when he was out??
And he's right to do soBouchard's agent right now

Top guys who play 25 mins plus and handle the puck a lot are going to have some giveaways....I have said this a lot...many here seem to only watch the oilers. Every team has bad/good stretches same with players. Bouch is Elite period. If Bouchard plays crappy, you will be provided advanced stats to tell you he's playing the opposite of crappy, and that you're a crappy poster for suggesting he's playing crappy
It's a crapshoot around here sometimess.
Bouchard with +2 and 24:40 at 5on5 and the usual suspect thinks hes been awful.
A giveaway is another term for a turnover. This is when the offensive player with the puck gets hit or makes a play (usually a pass) that causes their team to lose possession of the puck.- GoogleOne? There were TWO! Just ask @Bumblebee Man
Really happy this debate came up. It's just another perfect example of what I've been saying about stats and people who are incapable of having an honest discussion b/c they need a website to tell them what happened
Bouchard had a giveway to Barkov and a turnover to Bennett for a partial 2 on 1

Bouchard had an amazing game. Those plays happen, and his overall game was still fantastic. But imagine coming on here after watching that game and pretending one of those plays didn't happen b/c The Score or Yahoo Sports didn't have it on their stat sheet LMAO.. Bush league to say the least
Is Quinn Hughes still the better Dman? Asking for a friend.
I was listening to tsn overdrive and Odog of all people was praising Bouchard and saying that hes a top 3 dman in the league only behind Makar and Hughes right now.
Hayes and noodles looked dumbfounded thinking guys like McAvoy, Josi and Hedman were all better this year.
Luckily Struds came on and he said Bouchard is a top 5-6 dmen in the league right now.
There is always a bit of lag time between a player arriving and the media recognizing it. We're basically seeing in real time Bouchard maturing into a dominant number one defenseman after a few years of development.I was listening to tsn overdrive and Odog of all people was praising Bouchard and saying that hes a top 3 dman in the league only behind Makar and Hughes right now.

He is a top 10 dman in the league, no question, his defence suffers in regular season but his passing and IQ is elite.I was listening to tsn overdrive and Odog of all people was praising Bouchard and saying that hes a top 3 dman in the league only behind Makar and Hughes right now.
