Player Discussion Evan Bouchard

Dude F off with victim crap. I have 3 people coming after me on this thread.

Tobias thinks Bouchard would have been Canada’s second best D.
Orange thinks Bouchard’s past regular season was top 10 worthy.
And the Bumble Bee guy is immature and really likes confrontation.

4 people. You can include me.

Calling people out on bs or poor posting tactics isn't a bit

A little confusing why it makes you so angry that i keep ppl with a history of not wanting to have honest discussions in check?
Again, no you just sort of are contrary for contrary's sake, but all seem to die on very silly hills, and bombard with utter nonsense. I think you think you're something else, so not much can be done about that.

In the JP thread I did game and play breakdowns. Was called embarrassing

Defended Louie Debrusk from people saying he roots for anyone but the Oilers, wanted the Oilers to get a penalty. Only praises the other team, etc, etc. Got called embarrassing

To the poster in hand. Showed a Foegle mistake wasn't Bouchards fault...with evidence mind you. Showed that a play that was 20% Bouchards fault and 80% on his d partner and center was indeed not a "set play" against him.

If being contrary means telling the truth, it's a compliment. So thank you

He's been the best defenseman in these playoffs by a wide margin. Sign him long term, here's the #1D.
And it's a pattern.

He tightened up his game in the playoffs last year too. I'm a huge Ekholm fan (like everyone) and I'll say Bouchard was better than him. He handled big minutes better. His defensive issues vanished, just like this year. He's worth his money. There are lots of teams out there willing to pay and overpay for players who elevate in the playoffs instead of shrinking under pressure.

Going to be real annoying in February when I have to watch Pietrangelo and Parayko play for team Canada over this guy.

Meh, he did it to himself. He was a huge mistake factory this season. They weren't little ones. They were the type that make highlights and wtf worthy

He would have made the team had he followed up the playoffs with less polarizing gaffes

He'll have the same chance next year

Honestly, I really don't think it was much of a snub. It was kinda justified.

I disagree and here’s why. You need to look at the body of work. They took Paryko for that reason. He was plus 34 the previous year and had more assists as d man in the playoff run than Paul Coffey ever managed. He shows up big in big games every playoffs. It should be automatic to put him on the world stage this coming February.

Just mad again that we don't have Bouch locked up long term already. Really hoping he's emotionally committed to this team. Very tough summer coming for Bowman if Bouch and his agent are looking for max value.

Gotta try to push that out of mind and just enjoy these playoffs for now :)

I legit think Bouchard has performed better both offensively and defensively than Makar in the 2024 and 2025 playoffs.
