Ha. Nice response. Nobody said game. I specifically said puck rush and zone entry.

Yet another successful one. Thats 8 in this series. 8 in 3 games.

But..but...but....you told everyone he NEVER rushes and SUCKS at it cuz he's too mentally challenged to process the game

Bouchard has been terrible at defending, thats not even a debate, but rushes and zone entry......not in the slightest.

Not sure why you can't be honest? You can hate the player and still choose to be accurate. It's not that complicated

Bro you said Bouchard is an elite defensemen. He had ONE good game. (which I admit, unlike some of ya'll when he plays like ass)

His one good game doesn't undue his season of garbage

We can agree to disagree on this and there really is no point continuing this discussion. I strongly believe moving forward Bouchard will struggle entering the zone.

Sure he has some zone entries, but I don't think he's good at it. Team are also giving him the space to do it now.

I've mainly been commenting on Bouchard's play while you and a few others are more focused on attacking me because I am anti Bouchard. (chill out a bit)

He had one strong game and now you guys come out. (which i'm happy for him, I want to win)

This post alone has 2 massive lies.

1. The point was zone entries, which you brought up specifically. Not his over all play. Yet you keep trying to stray from that

2. "Only come out after a good game" lolol. . I've buried Bouchard all year for his play, while simultaneously defending him in areas where he deserves it. Especially to you

Also, I see you're back to pulling your Karen routine when when people correct you.

Great that Bouchard was an offensive standout last night. It doesnt however even come close to making all of his previous terrible defensive work irrelevant.

Also so predictable that certain posters on here rush to the keyboard as if Bouchards most recent performance erases all garbage he has been responsible for.

6 playoff game-winning goals to boot, tied for 4th all time among D-men lol (for reference Ovechkin has 11, Crosby has 9). I get that Bouch looks and moves like he's 38 years old, but at 25 with this level of offensive upside I'd expect him to get a tiny bit more leeway.

Meh. That post you replied to was bs too. Not sure who was being referenced, b/c there's been a limited bunch of us on either side of the discussion and it's been fairly consistent.

This "argument" that "ppl only pipe up when" has become more of a default jab than actual fact. It's lazy posting tbh when someone doesn't have much of an argument

In particular #karenshoes loves to use this quite alot to try and discredit someone, yet they post religiously on the player and double up when he's doing bad. It's hilarious when someone tries to use the kettle black defense . So immature to say the least

Agree with this. Great to see the Bouchard of last night. Hopefully he strings a few of these performances together.

Just have to take the bad with the good and hope the bad doesnt cost us too much.

I agree except that with Bouchard the bad is just terribly bad that it makes it very difficult to overcome with the good performances.

I have posted this before...its fine to have off games...every player has them...but his off games are so atrocious that the team is better off with him not being on the ice.

Bouchard simply cant let his lows be that low. Now having said that (and this may be what you're saying in your post) this might just be what Bouchard is and there's no changing it.
If thats true then I persoanlly wouldnt consider signing him for a Nure+ contract.

It may seem like that to you simply because there are so many absolutely brutal mistakes to post about.

In reality...there is no need to rush to post about every brutal play Bouchard makes because the probability is very high that he will make a brutal mistake the next game.

The bad is certainly bad but the good is too good to pass up on as seen last night.
Maybe we need his mother to attend all Oilers games going forward. HfOil to chip in and buy her season tix.

Also, its not just a Nurse contract anymore, when guys like Pionk are getting 7M per and Chychrun 9M then Bouchard should get a deal thats going to hurt us capspace wise. Seider's 8.55M per deal is giving me some hope that he may be good with 9.25M per to match Nurse.

The problem is consistency.
You just cant afford to pay for the possibility of a great offensive game when you have to absorb so much terrible defenisve play.

I watch a fair bit of hockey and Bouchards lows are by far the lowest of any other notable offensive dman.
I am not saying that the other dmen dont make mistales...what I am saying is that Bouchards lows are rock bottom AHL level defensive misreads.
The number of times I have seem him stand there with a stunned look on his face while the play goes on around him is absolutely inexcusable.

IMO to bring value to a $9M contract he has to absolutely improve that.
Not play mistake free but at least understand that urgency is mandatory on defence.

I really like the mother idea you came up with. :D

I think we are all saying the same thing and are on the same page.

We either have to accept who he is and work around his issues hoping he improves or we look elsewhere where there really isnt much available.

Agree that his mistakes are ECHL level gaffes and he shows no urgency when back checking. The fact remains that he will not be making less than Brock Faber (8.5M) money after all that he has accomplished in terms of points in playoffs.

I think that the waitng time is very close to being at an end. I would do a bridge deal to be sure but thats about it.
If a bridge deal isnt something he will do then I walk and maximize the value in a trade.
The lows are just too low...they are costing this team games time and time again...its too much risk for a long term (close to double digit) million dollar contract IMO.

Either that or buy him Mom a condo in Edmonton. ;)
 
Funny how Bouchard seems to play better in front of Pickard. Some coincidence, isn't it? Maybe some players don't actually thrive when they're forced to claw their way back from a two-or-three-goal deficit ten minutes into a game night after f***ing night.

This is a hard concept for many of our fans to understand. Lots of fans believe that Skinner is an average goalie. He is clearly the worst goalie since Cloutier. The numbers tell the tale.

Our team has been showing all year that they are not happy with Skinner being the goalie. Many instances of body language.
