Over the course of a season, these things tend to even out. For every free secondary assist he leeches from McDavid, he also has a pinpoint accurate breakout pass that his teammates botch on the breakaway or 2 on 1. Not to mention he has plenty of points that were all him whether it be a great pass or a bomb of a shot.

I actually agree with you but in the playoffs there isn’t 82 games for things to even out. He was fantastic last year and I hope he gets his game together.

This is his true measuring stick. Ekholm will be done soon. If Bouchard can't even look like the best guy on his own pairing, he should not be paid a ton. This is EDM though, they will give him a monster contract and then find a babysitter for him.

Guys who want or make 10M don't make as many blunders as he does game in and game out

He must have had a brutal game if his defenders are avoiding this thread with their stats. He even got credit for a couple of assists last night, secondary ones which he didn't do much for the credit. But compare those two assists to what he did for 3 of the Kings goals, which we don't have stats for.

And what will Knob do about it? The same things he's done all year....NOTHING. Multiple opportunities to sit him down to send a message all season, and he didn't do it. Now without Ekholm, there is zero chance of anything like that happening.

Last night Bouchard's lack of urgency was responsible for two goals against, then he was a big part of the comeback. Swings like that are killing this team mentally and he's going to cost 10+
