He pretty much gifted the Leafs their victory on Saturday. His giveaway on the Knies goal was probably the worst one of the season so far.

So who would have more value to the Oilers, Bouchard @ $11 X 8 years or McAvoy @ $9.5 Million for four more years?

Seems to me McAvoy is the better player and paid less.

McAvoy signed that in 22-23 right? His deal was 11.5% of the cap when signed, Bouchard getting 11 is the same percentage in a 92.5mil cap.

Time when signed matters.

The % of cap might be the same, but I don't see them as the same level of defender.

I would far rather have McAvoy than Bouchard.

I agree, but comparing the cap hit for deals signed with 4 years in between them isn't a good measure of value.

There's plenty of better reasons to take McAvoy than "he signed his contract 4 years earlier"

Has my impression on a player, drawn from 300 good to great games, been adversely impacted by 10 bad ones?

No, I'm not f***ing stupid. He'd still be Montreal's best player.

So let me ask you a serious question, if McAvoy became available from the Bruins and they asked for Bouchard as part of the trade, and knowing he is asking for $11 Million/year in negotiations, do you try to make a deal happen?

Honestly, playoff performances taken into account, I'd maybe do that trade 1 for 1, but "as part of the trade" I'm not adding much, if at all. I think McAvoy is overrated and Bouchard is underrated.

I think it's the opposite, Bouchard offensive production makes him overrated

That's a lot of money for a defenseman who can't play defense.

At the same time Erik Karlsson exists, so yeah... it's not unheard off.

No comparisons other than that they're both offensive Defensemen who suck at defending.

Habs be interested if Oilers back off his contract demands? Bouchard be good with Hitson. Give you a good defenseman for Bouchard. Somebody with less talent because of Bouchard high contract. Struble?
