EPSN asked hockey writers from around the world to rank the top forward in the game on a 1 to 10 point scale. They listed the top 100

4 Kings made the top 50 (Kopi, Brown, Carter, Richards) and Justin Williams was in the lower 25.

And as Puck Daddy pointed out, oddly enough, Bobby Ryan didn't make the list. But some that did you'd question how they're better .

This is the list from Puck Daddy of those who ranked in the list where maybe Ryan should have
In case you were wondering which players made a list that Bobby Ryan did not, here are a few of the NHL forwards that ESPN’s panel felt are better than him:
(Sven Baertschi (No. 100) who ???)

Jonathan Huberdeau (No. 55)
Alex Galchenyuk (No. 58)
Blake Wheeler (No. 64)
Brent Burns (No. 75, who just started playing forward last season.)
Tyler Seguin (No. 75)
P.A. Parenteau (No. 78)
Brandon Saad (No. 78)
Vladimir Tarasenko (No. 85)
Mika Zibanejad (No. 94)
Jaden Schwartz (No. 98)
Brendan Morrow (No. 99)
Sven Baertschi (No. 100)

Well, they're wrong. Brendan Morrow pretty much sucks now. Bobby Ryan is a much better player today than most of the forwards you extracted from their list in the bottom half of your post.

also how is JW ranked so low..........east coast bias or they just do not see enough of socal games on tv

Good for Williams to get recognition but he should be higher

In the last 5 years, only Datsyuk has been a better possession forward

Wow that list was ****. They had Tavares and Stamkos over Ovechkin. The list isn't good but the kings were in the top 50 but there was some obvious mistakes.

Some people last year wouldn't have put Ovechkin in the top 10 at all.

Ya well ESPN...I think most of you probably missed it, but ESPN had Jake Muzzin (yes really) as the #50 overall defensemen in the NHL... :help:

ESPN did a list of the top coaches, Sutter placed 4th.

http://espn.go.com/nhl/notebook/_/page/2013_nhlrank_coaches/

1. Quenneville
2. Babcock
3. Julien
4. Sutter
5. Bylsma

I think Bylsma is overated. There a few coaches I'd put before him. f Hitch has a Cup and more expericned, but is 7th below McLean who has only 2 years and no Cup....

Yeah, Tippet, Hitchcock & Trotz should be ahead of both Bylsma & McLean. The best though is having Roy, who has no NHL coaching experience whatsoever, ahead of coaches that do. Roy should be 30th just on that alone. Eakins at 22 is another one, and Bob Hartley has won a cup.
