If the Avs got the #1 or #2 pick, would they trade up to get #3 Hanifin?

It would take another couple of injuries (Varly and Pickard amongst them) to have a slim shot at catching Buffalo / Edmonton.

So the #2 pick is never gonna happen. And I just don't see any team passing up McDavid.

i disagree, as a rental he has SOME value. I could see PIttsburgh taking a flyer on him for a 4th or something

$4million caphit, on pace for 22 points :shakehead

I don't think anybody is interested in briere

Not saying we'll get much for him, but he could definitely have some value to a playoff team looking to add some depth. He's been good for some clutch playoff scoring in the past. His cap hit will only be $1m at the deadline and the Avs could retain 50% if needed.

The only problem is that Roy would have to acknowledge we aren't a playoff team with over 20 games to go. I'd say that part is unlikely.

Avs aren't getting McDavid , they'd have to go on a collapse of epic proportions to even have a chance of that happening.

I imagine they'll finish around where they are at right now.

Did you not see the fall for Mack? Avs were sitting around 8th or 9th half way through that season before just dive bombing.

Shortened season. Sacco. Enough said.
Also I am not sure that Buffalo or Edmonton will even make it to the 50 points pleateau we already have reached.
The epic level of tank this year is unprecedented.

But I disagree with you shed.
There is no chance we end up with Eichel.
I think we will have a 2-10% chance at McDavid.

Tough luck for the player and the team. I imagine they call up Elliott and see if he's a player for them or not.

You'd think so, but Roy says he is confident in the current group. It baffles the mind.

I hope Roy calls up Elliott or Siemens and tries to work them in rather than hoping the retreads can get it done. The season is not over...but a bad week or so will put an end to it.

The one player we really couldn't afford to lose. Our draft pick should be a couple of spots higher at least.

Trade Iggy to Calgary :sarcasm:

I wonder if he sticks around for this.

If i were Sakic i would think about it , that's for sure . I'm thinking about Boston with the Lucic-Krejci duo who missed Iggy Badly , this season . Idk if Boston have the cap space to fit Iggy on their lineup , but it wouldnt cost a thing to give Boston a call and see what kind of return we can get .

Back on topic , losing EJ for 3-8 weeks doesnt look good for the Avs , we're pretty much done .
