Seems to me that if the Rangers are signing an offensive D man who sucks at defense, Jones' days here are likely numbered. Hope I'm wrong though.

As much as I want Jones to make the team and solidify a spot, Gustafsson had a really awesome season and for 825K that is a steal. Plus he should run PP2 so we don’t have to see Trouba anymore.

At least Lav picked him over Matt Irwin, hopefully this means Harpur is in Hartford, or just never has to dress.

He is literally chaos on a stick. He is the equivalent of Mike Smith handling a puck. He makes dangerous plays all the time and when they go well it's okay but when it goes wrong people will question how he is in the NHL. He also is not defensively competent on most nights. If he was then he would have gotten a legit contract of a top 4 man, he didn't and there is a reason why. Compare this contract to mikkola and ask why mikkola got such a better deal, it's bc he's a better overall defenseman. Let that sink in...

Twitter sucks so I can't link, but both Rosen and Vince are saying they really like Jones and expect him and Gustafsson on the roster rotating.
Honestly if he's a Lavy guy it's clear who gets the most shakes, but it's good to know they value Jones. I guess.

He's no less dangerous and defensively inept than Schneider, but at least what he's good at are things the Rangers desperately need more of from the back-end. And pointing to Mikkola getting a better contract is crazy lol. Tony DeAngelo got an even better than Mikkola last summer. Do we think it's bc he's a better overall defensemen than both?
