do all canadian teams' fans make random threads on main boards when one of their players is doing somewhat decently?
No different than Americans, Swedes, etc.
insert nationality here……

This sums up the frustration/annoyance of a lot of users here. They overanalyze such minuscule things about their team to the point of annoying others. Canucks fans are easily the worst imo. Habs are borderline mean/cruel. Leafs at this point, we simply feel bad for. Sens/Flames/Jets are cool.
God forbid there are more discussions about hockey on a hockey message boards. An option is to read another thread than the ones that frustrate you. Ignore thread is also an option. You've posted multiple times in this one so it surely got you discussing hockey.

I get what you mean, but I for instance, will choose to read threads like this to keep an ear on the ground to what's going on with other teams. I'm not employed to watch hockey so I can't justify keeping tabs on all 32 teams on my own.

Im just saying my opinion of why Canadian teams/fan bases get bad reps around here. This thread and every Brannstrom thread so far is an example. Every time the dude scores, he gets another thread pumping his tires. Imagine if Blue Jackets/Panthers fans did that about their random bottom pairing dman.

I like that it gets good discussion going, but more often than not, its 31 teams ripping on the Canucks and then Canucks fans circle jerking eachohter. The same schtick gets old.

Fair point.

There are a few over zealous Canucks posters for sure. I've got a slap on the wrist from a mod for suggesting a thread was Canucks board material.

I'd say it's a numbers game. The teams with the most fans/posters usually are the ones making these types of threads. From your perspective it may be a fringe discussion but EVERYTHING is covered in a Canadian hockey market. Discussing your 13th ranked prospect? sure, we can talk about it, because there are a bunch of people who actually know something about that prospect.

That doesn't really happen in Sunrise or Fort Lauderdale, FL. Not in Columbus for that matter either.

If there was a larger audience and a more "hardcore" fanbase, those teams posters would also post threads like these. Instead.. you've got 30 guys on their own board discussing things.

Not really shocking that teams with small fan bases create less threads?

This is hilarious. Elite Puck Moving Defensemen to waivers in 10 days.

A lot of people I talk to in Vancouver actually kinda like him. He's not perfect but definitely not our worst choice to put out there.

Not sure I agree with this

Wait, where did anyone say he was elite?

I don't think he was anything more than a #6, but it was clear Tocchet didn't like the guy.

Amazing how VAN got him

Was mistreated and hated by DJ Smith in Ottawa for simply not being 6’2 200 lbs

Was dumped by COL for Poolman so they could active LTIR

Now he has found a home in VAN under Toecchet’s system

And a little more than a month later, he was evicted by Tocchet’s system. Life is cruel.

My bad i misread legit, thought it said elite. I'm conducting a locomotive and reading between moves...
Understandable mistake. It’s not often a #6 defenceman just barely hanging onto an NHL job gets a praise thread on the mains.

His tantalizing moments with the puck did not result in enough productivity to balance out his severe ineptitude away from the puck.

This is a classic case of over-hyping a player because your favourite team acquired him.

The Canucks acquired him as part of a deal to dump salary so they had the cap space to acquire a defenseman better than EB. The most optimistic scenario was that the Canucks gained cap space plus a 6/7 calibre defenseman.

It's a waste of energy to be disappointed by whatever happens to Brannstrom.
