Panik for Del Zotto or Bellows for Brannstrom.

#BringErikHome*

*He was drafted by VGK with the Islanders 1st round pick + Grabovski's contract that they traded in the expansion draft to protect a couple players from getting draft IIRC.

I'm not a rival fan so I can't really play along.

I could see an Arizona deal to take him with Zaitsev, probably plus a pick.

As for a straight swap, maybe in Detroit for Rasmussen or Veleno? I also used to believe a deal with LA for Vilardi would be a great fit for both sides but LA fans were insistent he was transitioning to wing and there would be no interest. Both teams probably keep their guys honestly.

I got nothin.
Veleno for a guy Detroit already has a handful of with that potential is gonna be a no.

We definitely need LHD, but I’ll keep Veleno and Ras and take the bet that at least one of Johansson/Wallinder/McIsaac/Sebrango/Viro /Buium/Tuomisto ends up better than Brannstrom.

I'd rather he get an extended look on the 3rd pair with a steady presence (Holden) and 2nd unit PP time and watch him flame out than trade him for anything equivalent to Foegele/2nd/3rd+/ect.

I absolutely understand the point of the thread and the options laid out by OP, but this team doesn't need more bottom-six depth or picks at the expense of an extremely flawed but talented PMD. Obviously if he can be part of a package for a top-six winger/top-four RD you pull the trigger, but short of that I'd rather just roll the dice from a Sens perspective.

All that being said, I'd be extremely interested to see wat this guy can do away from DJ Smith who hasn't seemed to trust for more than a 7-8 game stretch earlier this season.

Is Brannstrom, at this point in his career, a guy you'd want in your top 6 for the playoffs? No.

But is Brannstrom, at this point in his career, a guy that's good enough to play in the top 6 for Ottawa, a team that's trying to go from bottom-5 in the league to having .500-.550 winning percentage? Yes.

He won't have a ton of value around the league (probably a 2nd rounder), but he's more than good enough to play on this team right now.

There's no reason to trade him. Maybe he improves and becomes valuable. If not, they can cut ties once Bernard-Docker, Thomson and/or Kleven show they're ready. They'll probably be able to get a 2nd or 3rd then, too.

It's time to stop judging him as if he's the top prospect who was traded for Stone and significantly lower expectations. That was a terrible trade by a terrible GM.

Maybe he has that value to you or to Ottawa, but around the league I imagine he's closer to a Waiver Claim than 2nd rounder for most teams.

No chance Veleno is available for Bran.

With that said, Detroit and Anaheim should be interested. Could be a low risk high reward pick up.
