Still would need another piece but that is a trade proposal that could work.

The Bruins will be lucky to make it out of round one if they stand pat man.

That said I’d do JFK and a 3rd for Staal. There’s your 3C for next year.

3rd can be a 1st if they win the cup. No one will give a damn at that point.

I doubt that would do it. Though it depends how high Minnie is on Zboril, I suppose.
Since Staal has been more productive than Nash, so I'd use that as the starting point and go up a bit.

Maybe Zboril or Donato + 1st + 3rd.

That is probably twice what they paid for Nash. The Rangers took on a cap dump and a player who would not have been re-signed as well and the Rangers retained half of his salary while Boston retained some on Matt Beleskey.

You would have to take David Backes and retain half of Staal's salary, and swap Donato out for Wiley Sherman and that is still more than the Rangers got by a little.

Your proposal is not taking the Nash deal and going up a bit, it is doubling the price. I am guessing that you just didn't realize all of the details of the Nash deal.

Ya for sure.

I’d like to see them get a serviceable 3C like a Staal who has been around the block/knows his role.

For the 2RW spot they need to swing heavy to have a chance. No clue who they’re in on but it needs to be a good one.

Either that or a 2LW and move Debrusk over which I do t like as much

Could probably toss Coyle in but that would pretty drastically change the pieces from Boston's end.

Wild fans are pretty disconsolate. Good time to pounce. Next up, Jonas Brodin for Shaw +3rd+ 1000 lbs. of smoked meat.

His name seems to come up a lot. Seems like the kind of guy that always leaves you wanting more.

Don’t see him enough to say what the Bruins would offer up though they and Minny seem like good partners.

Mind you I thought STL were too and that didn’t exactly pan out so what do I know

Wild are up to their arses in 3C's. Not a need, at all.
We do have a few 3C-ish players. We don't have a lot of young centers that could credibly step in as a 3C within a year and potentially grow into more than that over time.

It'd be nice to get a 1st for Staal, but it's possible that won't be an option.
