People said that before he came to MN, and he ended up being their best FA signing ever. I am not convinced that he might not have enough left to help a team in the playoffs. Sometimes all that is needed is for the body to heal up...this guy never missed games when he was on the Wild.
I wish him all the best. Never complained once when he was here, and did nothing but outproduce his contract, unlike some others.

He'll be playing against a considerably lower level of competition than the NHL. Staal has lots to offer in this scenario.

I hope he has a great Olympics and comes back and contributes for a team before the playoffs. The only reason I hope for this is because I hate seeing players I grew up watching fade out. It’s weird. Rick Nash was the first one but they’ve been dropping like flies lately. When Crosby retires I guess I’ll finally come to terms with my age.

b) Rarely want to retire and want to keep playing
c) Love to represent their country in international play.
