Recency bias indicates that I'm not comfortable for him to be our ECHL-affiliate backup.

Ask me again the next time he plays.

He's been pretty solid this year, and he was solid the whole year on his last stint before getting paid by Buffalo. Honestly, he's better than Pavelec, which is probably a good bar for a backup.

Brossoit got overpaid by Chicago ($3.3M x 2), a bottom-feeder with tons of cap space. Vegas and Chicago both think he's a 1B - we can't afford to give 1B money to a guy who backs up Hellebuyck when we have other priorities.

Comrie has played pretty good this year, and even in this Tampa game. I did feel more confident with Brossoit as a backup, but we'll see how Comrie does in the next 10 games or so. So far, not too bad.

I don't think he's bad, but he's totally not your starter if your starting goaltender gets hurt. Solid NHL back-up though.

I was gonna make a post here thinking at the deadline if we're doing hot we trade for the best back-up in the league or we can find that'll fit under the cap. More along the likes of Cam Talbot.

As a backup... yeah I'm confident he'll perform like I expect a backup to perform. Shaky at times and some real good games thrown in too.
