Ya, I agree. Comrie has been outstanding for the moose. But we have seen him completely break down in every NHL start. I don't think he's got it.
I agree, but it’s a pretty small sample size. I’m okay with giving him a final shot this fall, but if he falters they have to replace him.

They apparently checked with Wade and Helle on who he wanted as his backup and they decided on Eric. This is a big opportunity for him. I hope he's ready to come and size it.

Replacing Brossoit with Comrie scares the hell out of me. Comrie is not even qualified to be a backup. Neither is Berdin. What is Helle goes down with an injury?

Letting go of Brossoit was a big mistake. I honestly think that the black horse in the race is Arvid Holm. He has been playing well in the Swedish Elite League, and will turn 23 in November. I would love to see Hutch back in a Jets jersey as well.

They didn't let him go. He was a UFA and signed for 2 years at $2.325 AAV. No way we are in a position to match that.

How about we give him a shot. He’s been decent in the AHL. And played on some poor teams in a small sample size. People were ragging on the Bro signing a few years ago too. Hopefully Jets did there homework. I’m no goalie guru so who knows.

FWIW, I remember reading an article on the Athletic a year or two ago where they interviewed a goalie trainer. The article asked her a question about who she thought was underrated. She mentioned Comrie and someone else. Says he has good fundamentals and believed he was just unlucky and was a better goalie than his numbers. When they asked her the opposite question about who was overrated, she mentioned Martin Jones who had serious flaws in his technique. I think her opinions were pretty valid at the time.

Also worth mentioning that several organizations claimed and traded for Comrie, so they obviously saw something there. Hope he can be a good backup and I am willing to give him a second chance.

I think he will get his shot, unless a really cheap proven backup falls into their lap.

I think they’re going to go with him. See what he’s got. He’s put in his time, they owe him a look in IMO. I think he’ll do alright.

Maybe if Comrie faulters, either give Berdin a chance or maybe call Curtis McElhinney, he'd be alright as a veteran backup, probably only cost us a bit more than Comrie.

Are you kidding? lol.

What has Comrie done to deserve anything?

Career stats:

9 Games played
4.07 Goals against average
3-5-0 record
0.873 saving percentage

The majority of Comrie's NHL starts have been behind a very good Winnipeg defense (2016-19). I'm not sure if I trust Comrie to start over 3 games, let alone be the designated backup.
